Can you post up some pics of the mounting points, It would be nice to see how you managed to secure it, as there is a lack of factory mounting points on the Vitara.
Cheers

Will do!! Still in designing process at this stage, but will do.
here's a simple design (idea borrowed from mroffroader)
Checker plate was about 6mm thick alloy, pipe has welded caps on ends and about 3mm thick just got it from scrap metal yard...
then there is just the ARB ones...
this is the winch version... but there is a front hitch mounted in the place where the winch normally goes so you can mount a removeable one in there...

dont have the truck so can't take anymore photos...
basically there was a piece of angleiron ?3mm coming off the bar at an angle on either side, welded to a ?4mm square plate the same size as where the stock bumper mounts (I Think) and then there was 2 hi-tensile bolts going through the stock bumper holes i think... or there happened to be 2 holes there that lined up where i wanted it to go... have a look at the pics and then your truck and should be able to work it out

Yeh... it wouldn't be hard to weld a top loop onto the bar to protect the grill etc if you wanted... but with this mounting i would NOT put a winch or tow hooks on it.
