Is it not a requirement of any club (or) trip that first aid kits and extinguishers are part of a scrutinised vehicle?

Thats opening a big can of worms guys.

Seeing as this is a association trip, we gotta follow the rules.

Rules that apply to this trip as far as vehicles go are:

Extinguisher
First aid kit
Rated tow hooks or other secure towing point on both front and rear
Snatch strap/rope

It would be advisable to bring basic essential spares for your vehicle )fan belts  radiator hoses), a spade, radio, and cutting implement also.

Hows that sound Ben??

For the tow point rule on trips like this, the rule of thumb i tend to opporate under is this:

If the consensus of opinion of the experinced members on the day is that the tow points are not suitable, then the driver of the vehicle will be advised of this, and instructed not to attemp certain obsticles that may require a recovery that would exert a force on the tow points greater than they are deemed to be able to safely withstand.

Either way, the trip leader has final ruling, so go grab a cheap extinguisher and first aid kit of you aint got one!!!!!!!

(Been a loooong day at work, hope that don't come accross as stepin on toes)

Since I grew up in Pureora 40 years now & thought I knew where to go & not to go it was an eye opener when I started to work with DOC to try to control 4WDS then found out that the tracks we had be driving for years were not doc land might start on Doc land but go into private land so I repeat please check with them thats all thanks
