yahoo my hilux passed lvv today certed for mild springlift and 31s on mags
and rover v8 conversion and coupla other bits
remarked speedo no road miles so no biggy on tyre size
and so i asked the question
and bigger tyres is whole new cert
but standard rims and tyre size is ok no need for recert
would laugh to see some of the tanks on here on std rims
lvv is so localized and up to interpetation
anyone heard of the three hard stops from 100 km on open road test?
i know people who have got lvv without their wagon being driven?

I was told that there was no longer a certifier in Nelson 
Will go there once mine needs doing, I've had major problems a few years back with an idiot in ChCh certifying my old 4wd.
It failed its next wof and was ruled unsafe, the LTSA had an inspector check it, and agreed it should never have been certified

when my truck was certed I didn't have the third row of seats in so now its a 5 seater, although as the third row is OEM, they can go in without a re-cert. Also even if your plate says 15 x7 or whatever you can run any OEM Rim that was available for your vehicle, BUT it has to have the manufacturer's stamp on it.

As Ransom said, there are two certifiers in Nelson. Well one in Nelson, one in Mot. The Mot guy operates out of the Vehicle Testing station. That is who we use, he is real good.

Peter Wastney got in a WEE bit of trouble a couple of years back apparently, so he is no longer doing certs. I would suggest the Mot. guy for your cert.

I recently went on a club trip were some vehicles had loops and others didnt, the trucks fitted with them got hung up on them which was clearly vissble in the muddy tracks as they provided more drag. Personally i wouldn't fit them to a 4wd but some certifiers have their reasons.
