my ute is a 1990 hilux with 3y (i think) in it . When it runs it runs well but you give it a rev and between 1000 and 1500 rpm it runs a bag of s**t!!!! :shock: it wants to stop then it wll rev only to about 1500 and that is with out given it a rev??? but when you give it a bit more its sweet again????so if you have idea that would be great cheers blair 8)

Sounds like fuel filter is full of crap. I went on a 4x4 trip and the tank got low when we got to some bouncy stuff, after that it just was all over the place in rev's went well, then nothing then okish then well.

Look at the fuel filter, I replaced (had a spare) you can temporarily bypass the filter if you clean out the tank so you can prove and you can drive down get a new filter, but it is there for a reason.

Another way is to look at the arrows and see what is happening when you try tip the fuel out.

That reminds me that is something I no longer have in the spares stuff.

The only other thing I can think of is the throttle butterfly is sticking, if it is not missing backfireing or anything silly (timing sounds fine) it has to be fuel or air. I would look at fuel first it is more likley.

cheers guys will have a look and let you know 8) took the thing for a run before and its running sweet :shock: so it cant be to much i hope :sniper:
