Dont know much about Pajeros yet but, mine is a 1992 Jtop. I've been told of a 1991 that is the same round shape as mine (assuming that means its a Gen 2). Heres the questions.
1. Are all Gen 2 parts interchangeable ?
2. Did they all come out with factory diff lockers ?

Im still fairly new to Pajeros myself, have not long got a Hardtop 93
From what i have read and investigated so far
1)Parts are pretty much all interchangeable except when dealing with the different motor types, so there might be some drive train differences but indicators and panels etc are the same.
2) A JTop pretty much always came with a factory rear locker so i understand. Its difficult to find a hardtop that does ( mine doesn't ) and ones I looked at didn't either. JTops are prefered when 4Wding it appears.

not all j Tops have the rear diff lock.
i have owned a 91 for the last 5 years and found many that dont have the diff lock

2.5 and will not meet up to a 2.8, theres a lot of work needed to match them up as i mate found out

there are 2 main gen 2s. the 2.5d and 3ltr v6 petrol are very similar, as are the 2.8d and 3.5ltr v6 petrol.
my jtop didnt have a factory rear locker, but i put diffs from a 2.5diesel in it that were 5.29 ratio and had a rear locker. the gear box isnt interchangable between 2.5d and 3ltr but you can seperate the transfur case and swap them between each other.
the 2.8 and 3.5 have a small bodylift from factory and bigger stronger running gear and are not interchangeable with the 2.5 and 3ltr, but should be between themselves, if that makes sence.
what exactly is yours? being a j top im assuming its either a 3ltr or 2.5?
