Had a look.
wankers for TWO reasons,

firstly, the irresponsibility of the subject.

Second, whats the point of being a petrolhead in any motor sport and then drowning out the sound of the engine with that ratshit noise that has very little resemblance to music?>

Still wankers tho, for damage to a rare and valuable resource.

We need to deal with these prigs as soon as we see stuff like this ...

It is far better than having DOC or the local council comes to us looking for the culprit, or they just close the track.

And I think that it shows some responsibility on our part.

The only upside of the clip it the dorks are easy to identify as are their number plates.

What do ya'all think ??

Number plates are readable on the 2 trucks, and the evidence is here on youtube so if someone wanted to take this further.

seriously I dont think there is any law for cutting down a tree unless it is in a national park or for pushing a rock down a bank. So turning this into a witch hunt probably isnt worth it and is a waste of time. I would imagine those that are in the vid will see this thread if they are from this site and learn that there are 4wders and others who frown upon this sort of behavior and will learn from it. Personally I would rather the youth of today do this than drive at 180km/hr in town straight into somebody i know.

Actually Mike, you would be surprised how many laws are in existence regarding tree felling, especially on Crown land. Further, the party are gulity of reckless endangerment by virtue of their rock tipping. Where we are in agreement is on the folly of a witch-hunt, the need for calm heads, and the importance of peer lead education; if anyone knows these lads, a firm dose of reality therapy is the prescribed medicine. :!:

I'm with tim on this one I see nothing wrong with the vid except for the rock, specially that last one. However some people will look at the vid and accuse them of ripping the ground up as well going up some of those banks so ya cant win either way. Heck I have had people take a disliking to a vid I posted where there was not one slip of a wheel in the whole clip.

Can anyone of you tell me when you were 16-18 you would not have done similar things or at least found it funny.

By posting the clip up on here even though we are discussing how bad it is and all that could possiably do more harm than good, before hand it may have gone under the radar but now all the greenes and whoever else watch this site have more ammo.

Dont forget people that are here looking for ammo wont go to the person involved and reccomend they not do something like that again, they will take that clip, go to doc or whoever and say they should close it.
So in my eyes, yea they shouldn't have done it, but mike21 by posting it here you have brought it foward to t greenes and any of those other spying eyes that hide behind there computers taking the worst clips and pics thay can to make whoever thay want look bad.

here is some food for thought, if they had put that clip up as just the rocks without any 4wding would any of you have noticed it?

rant over. :)

I think it is actualy good it was found and discussed, I found and watched the vid myself, but refrained from replying earlier. It is valid to bring it up and if you see any of them you bring it up they may become more responsable.

I am with Mike there is no need for a witch hunt but there is a need for anyone who knows them to say the rocks and tree destruction is uncalled for, this may mean the activity is no longer recorded but we are not the police and can only point out their error and the reasons why it should not be done.

The Waipra is more of a conflict of commercial intrest issue and more about vehicle access, very different from what was in that video.

would of been funnier if one of them had fallen off with the last rock they pushed down.

looked like a fun day out though - and yes better to push a rock down a hill than jump behind the wheel of a 300hp+ car and going hooning through town - my thoughts on it anyway.

but yes still not good for the 4x4 image - although alot of people still hold the thought that 4x4'ing is for old duffers who like to go on sunday drives and stop for a "spot of tea"... that image is slowly changing though - will be quicker with vid's like that

absolutely nothing - i enjoy the odd spot myself

but seriously that is another cool thing about 4x4'ing as long as you have a license and truck to bash then your in it - you can be 18 or you can be 68 and head out with a diverse bunch of people and have fun - not many sports can boast that kinda age difference

after all my mate said age is just a number!! (after he found a dirty 17 year old to poke)

It would definatley not have been funny to see one of them go down with the rock possibly suffering serious injury!
And what about a innocient tramper, walker or hunter in the path of said rock. They would stand no chance against 1/2 a ton of rock baring down apon them from the dense bush!

This behaviour is no joke at all!

Not only have they bought ORE back into the lime light, but it will be seen as all 4x4 enthusiasts are into this sort of behaviour.

Its time for these idiots to grow up!

Ranting cooling off now..............

I agree entirely ...
This was my original point really… though I obviously did not put it across right ...
Where we can identify the people ... let them know the possible consequences of their actions ...

Another thing to remember is to remove any (ORE or another club) stickers before we sell our trucks.

Can we identify them and get the vid pulled and then try and deal with internally? if its left on there then its more potential anti 4x4 ammo. if they are current ORE members then they need a word or 3 as most DOC land you need permission to cut trees let alone modify any track. the driving was ok the issues are the unauthoriosed tree removal and track maintenence.

maintaining land access that we enjoy is a growing problem and actions like these do not help, we as a 4wd community need to be seen as self policing and educating on safety issues and responsible 4wd'ing. if left alone this has the scope to blow up in our faces and cause issues for the 4wd community not to mention ORE.

What are we going to do? take them out to the bush and poke them with cattle rods?

Lets not get silly like old woman do with boy racers. Boys will be boys and i think the majority of us here have been boys once in our lives.

Yes pushing a boulder down a cliff face is bad but it is on the lighter side of lifes wrongs - in my opinion. They only reason it is getting so much hype is that it has been associated with 4x4'ing - which seems really silly considering all the parts of the video that are have been deemed "bad" have absolutely nothing to do with 4x4ing.

In saying this - yes what they did was dumb - no question there. But dealing with it internally? that sounds even dumber.

Welcome to the ORE gang where if you step out of line.......

Do we need a initiation ceremony?

No I'm not saying beat them with sticks or something, educate them so they don't do it again and tell them why ie we may lose access to the track for all 4wd'ers etc. that way if DOC come knocking we can say that it has been dealt with rather than a we don't care attitude.

We all like to play in the mud and stuff, there are area's that allow this and area's that we have to be careful in....
