Brake Trouble

Post by Dick »

Well i have finally got the truck going, after breaking a timing belt, bending a push rod, then to find cracks in the head, so on went a new head, valves, timing belt and pushrods, then bearings in steering knuckle joints were stuffed, so those were replaced, and now, finally the WOF is current.

However, on my way to town today, under brake, the vehicle was pulling hard out to the right. This has never happended before, and i have not touched, or done any work on the brakes at all. After driving for another 10 mins or so it came right and i thought it was all good.

HOWEVER, on the way back home it started pulling to the left all the time [costantly], not even under brake, as the left brake some how was kinda stuck on. And once again, when braking, it was pulling to the right.

This is extremely strange as we didnt do anything to the braking system when replacing the steering knuckle bearings and the wheel bearings, and as it was going perfect before.

Would anyone have any suggestions as to why this has occured, and how i should go about fixing it??

Cheers, (sorry the above was so long)

hi there go back through the bearings and make sure they have the correct ttightness/preasure on them sounds to me as the wheel is moving sideways and binding up on the brake callapers. double check that everything is nice and tight etc
