LABOUR WEEKEND

Post by skid »

I thought that seeing as how we are over halfway through the weekend, it was time to post.

Spent yesterday morning trying to wire up LEDs on the trailer for adogg to borrow.

Spent the afternoon cleaning up inside the house a bit.

Today we cleaned up around the outside of the house and I started to tidy up my lockup, so I can find stuff.

Then it was time to remove the starter motor from orange coz its been playing up and is not so high torque lately. The very first nut I tried to undo was the main battery cable and it proceeded to break the housing for the electrical motor clean in half. :x :x :x

will carry on with my lockup clean tomorrow and go visit adogg to see his new purchase. hes up to 4 different cruisers now. greedy boy.

I took the Jeep for a WoF yesterday, got pulled up on a few things which I am working through. The rear tyre carrier was loose where it joined onto the bumper, the WoF man didn't like it being loose, but that was the excuse I was looking for as I wanted to take it off anyway. So now the carrier and associated bracketry has been removed, leaves a few holes in the hatch, will looking at plugging them, or maybe in the future replacing the whole door as there are a few cracks in the fibreglass.

I also need to look at the handbrake, and exhaust leak, and get Novus to fill a crack in the windscreen.

Might try to go for a drive tomorrow morning since I will be up early having watched the Formula 1 in Brazil.

Starting modding the gaurds, looks like the flares will have to come off. Removed the rest of our pool fence ready for the concrete placers next week. Filled in the hole I made in the garden removing the tree... about it for now...

Been trying to remove my transfer case without removing the g-box. Not enought f@#ken room to slide the basard off  :x

Anyone managed to remove a T-case on a cruiser without having to remove the gear box first?

Recond front brakes on the Scud, needed new pistons both sides! Replaced rt front w/bearing. Cleaned out the garage after making a hell of a mess, so tomorrow I can do the brakes on the other scud.

Need to get some covering for top when shops open tomorrow.
Need to get some rope or similar to set the height
Need to get a better securing system as now when I shut the rear door it jolts it off.

The hinges are bent to suit and attached to a piece of solid steel running the lenght of the door which I added. If I can find some vynal (sp) that looks better I will cover the whole thing with it.

Worked all day saturday.

Did CV's on a friends BHALP Mazda on sunday. Passenger side was a MARE to get the axle out of the box.

Today I tidied the garage and began to mount my new Ryobi bench grinder and then mowed the lawns and did the edges.

Need to replace the chuck on my drill, off to the hardware store now.

I'm at the airport with my partner waiting to jump on a plane back to Chch. We've been in Wellington for the weekend. Loved it. Man, she's pretty trendy here. Lots of things to do, good people here.
Lookin' forward to getting home though. Thing i wanna do to me new fj40 (blah blah)
So Dave. Where did you sight your gun? I've just become a member of the gun range at macleans island. Still waiting for my key for access though. i'm keen to get my Ruger 223 mini-14 semi auto down there. i just had a "gunworks" muffler put on it last week. :bounce:

Spent the weekend at Costaplenty. Awsome place, wet as after all the rain which made for some muddy tracks and bogs. Had a small "incident" when the track seemed to dissapeer from under the passenger side wheels and ended up in some manuka scrub.
