How high is your truck

Post by rangimotors »

had no idea where to put this so it can go here.
Been driving around alot latley looking at heights of drive-throu's and max height area's and its left me wondering just how high do some of the bigger trucks get, if any of you no how high your truck is can you please post up i think it would be interesting to compare, and yes im talking max height including any racks or anything you have way up there.
Cheers

Or you could also post up any area's that you can't go.

I know what you mean, there are times when I am in a car park building and feel the roof-rack is about to rub on the roof, but when you get out and have a look there is still quite a bit of room. I have a 4WD Mazda MPV, not lifted just tallish and low ceilinged parking buildings.

In some cases I am sure that width is also an issue. Some Safaris with big and therefore wide tyres must fill up parking slots etc

With the roof rack on I can't fit into a 2.4m stud garage, well I can but the trusses push the suspension down. With the ladders on its about 2.6M

My Hilux used to just squeak into most parking buildings in town with 33's on, and the MU - well I only ever tried going into the one beside the Hotel Grand Chancellor on cashel st in Chch, and the plastic height-warning-tube thing hit the windscreen at about my eye-height - I backed straight back out :P

How did you manage that?

I just slapped in 50mm of body lift to clear my 33's and with slightly longer shackles and borderline flat springs i sit above 2m.

BJ70 at 1935mm. That's on the high side, near the back - and it changes when I climb on the truck to measure it :? Width is my issue. This usually gets worse at altitude but doesn't show up too much in carparks where most folk seem to give the old girl a fairly wide berth -- have yet to get any "carpark dings" on her! Actually, I should bloody ring State and ask for a concession on my policy for 'discouraging wanky door-opening in public carparks' !

Highest point on roofrack on the saf is 2.20metres. Highest point on front (cb aerial) is 2.50 metres. I have marked the roofrack height on the aerial up front so I don't get caught out in the bush with low hanging trees. I just fit in to my work carpark, on the lower floor mind you.

Ha! Just the other day, I came trundling back up a bushy wee track I'd been exploring, when the glint of a shiny thing caught my eye... "What's that shiny thing hangin' from yonder tree?" I asked myself. And there it was, my pride and joy No.8 Aerial. Bugger.

new truck is 1.85m, cause when its 1.9m toll wont carry it as a car, it would be classed as a truck and would cost near 1500 rather than 600
