Toyota transfer case bits

Post by mudmike »

Hi I'm looking for two bits for my kzj78 case, need the front output shaft and the 2 - 4wd shift fork. I hope someone has a busted case out there that has the bits spare. I think any 70series 5spd has same case?
thanks

I just picked up a good "kzj78" 2nd hand transfer case on the weekend , plan to replace mine this weekend if not the next ( too noisey ), you can have the case that i pull out - its from a 89" LJ71 & is identical to the kzj78 case as far as i can see , same 38mm idler version ! where are you ? I'm in Chch !

Can you not get a new seal Jerry, a leaking secondhand seal's got to be a last option :?

Thanks for the offer, but I had to go and get the bits I needed from nz bus and truck, good price and new bits, also doing all beerings and seals while it's out. Daily driver so couldn't wait.
Thanks anyway.
PS these guys are agents for http://www.donkyatt.com
or phone on 0800 287276, got good selection at great prices and the service is very good. much better than toyota for all the odd ball parts.

If your gonna dump it I'll take it off your hands and rebuild it.

Looks like WJW ( Bill ) has got the case - if you give me a look at your engine bay when you pick it up ( I'm looking for a suitable engine for a conversion )

I also have 2nd hand driveshafts & drum brakes from the same LJ71 , they have new gearings on them , all of 3-4 months old - not sure if i can take them off without damaging the bearings ? , I just bought a complete pair of rear axles & disc brakes off a kzj78 .
