i went to the pureroa forest with the Taranaki club, bullbar worked no front damage and the bar can be rebuilt

hows this for a lifted suzzie 1500 datsun engine nasty bump steer

fairlead needs some work too

we had the cruiser winching up towing the suzie and i hung my winch hook on the back of the suzzie to start winching up the hill

Sunday got to tow a toyota

Not that im a welder or engineer or anything, but coxy, you reckon if you actually narrowed the width of those wings and braced either side back to your chassis or some place, then you wouldnt need to fix it, i mean, man, really, they may be the cats whiskers and all, but cats use their whiskers to judge the width of things to see if they can fit through, not to see if they CANT fit through.... :wink:

Went to whangarei on friday, nice 5.5 hour drive from Hamilton. Went to Pouto on Sat morning, camped in a westerly gale, which broke tent. Buggered around on ripiro beach, hit the lighthouse, played in the expanse of dunes behind the lighthouse, and in the forestry behind the dunes.

Sunday, broke camp and found a spot behind a dune in a clearing in some titree around the Pouto point, set up camp again. No wind, hgad a good sleep. Bollocksd about in the dunes again.
Today, spent 6 hours trying to get home. Had fun trying to spot offroad express wakas. Saw Big-al on the Bombays, and must apologise to whoever was driving the Rangerover towing a kahki zuk through huntly.... It looked like lilpig driving so threw the salute..... it wasnt lilpig......... :roll:

yes you are so correct i stuffed up , oh is that the cats whiskers some dude posted about, never mind! also didn't change the top pipe on the stock winch face just welded to it , very weak another stuff up, what else did i do yell at the trip tail end charlie for being a ass!
Put the saf in for a service last week , failed to turn over day of the service charged the batteries took it in the next day both batteries at the end of their lifes , front disc pads need replacing , said do it new batteries cost $391 , labour $248 , total bill $995.60

friday, took of with gomulletgo's ifs surf rear axle, friday nite flat mates 21st :drunken: saturday not much bit of work, sat nite :drunken: , sunday nothing at all, sunday nite, made up bracket for the radiator on the deck, took out the old diff/axle and got the ifs one sitting back in there. got my work cut out to get it back on the road by christmas :roll:

Quiet weekend for me....friday morning felt ok friday afternoon felt like shit spent the next 2 days recovering that horrible headchy flu thats going round :pukel: , felt better today. ripped out the rear seats and the rear carpet, carpet got a few washs and rinses in the bath and now drying in the garage line, rear floor looks good and thinking about slimline box options. grabbed some replacement aisan hubs of Sig this afternoon (thanks Sig :lol:

) rear diff head is pi55ing out oil somewhere... the bolts are tight maybe needs a new seal?

Did manage to make a new gate for the drive & spent the rest of the time with the missus & kid - BTW whose was the black Jeep Wrangler I saw outside BBQ factory in TGA?

it was at one stage some how it staightened , bent the otherside in a creek the bar hard againest a stump trying to winch out , the same hole a cruiser tred pulling a torrano out to goes didn't move a mm he winched out tooi 'll post a pic of it when they are avilable

nice looking gun those Weatherbys i always liked the look of the red mist ones, and they seem a pretty good gun for what they are worth, nice after market silencer as well,

, just gotta get out and do some hunting

worth around $1600 with scope. Muffler was $400 but all in all a great varmet gun. Gets an inch grouping at 100m no probs. Now i got the hell 4X4 machine (with roof off) for bunny shooting, I wouldn't wanna be a bunny when I'm in range :shock:

No 4WD'n for me this weekend, went to a little town called Kopara,on the West Coast of the South Island, for the annual North vs South black powder shoot.

Here is a shot of the family dressed for the occasion.

And the North team (the glorious North!), cooking the grub.

And an idea of the sort of shooting we were doing.

Also a pic of the Sunday battle, 13 Black powder shooters in a line, all shooting in a volley at these, was great fun :!:

This is the centre range on Sunday, a far cry from the weather we had on Saturday, which saw a new experience for a few of us, who got to shoot in a hail/lightning storm :shock:

And a shot of the compound at Kopara Village, to give you an idea of the place.

Great people/great place(no cell phone coverage at all)great shooting/great fishing.
Also plenty of scope for 4WD'n, with some great tracks to explore around the area, which I will do at some stage between shoots in the future.

I remember Kopara from years ago when there were a whole bunch of hippies living up there :shock:

Looks like it has been tided up alot

There is alot of great 4x4 tracks around Kopara and Cockeye creek from shiny to hark yaka, just have to watch out for the rivers as they rise real fast.

Hi. every one. Well i had a huge labour weekend. left waimate friday arvo and headed with three other mates to the west coast. Yes you guessed it the trip was full on 4x4ing at its best. We did about three big tracks.A in out trip to a hut just before springs junction. then the big river track. Well we would have liked to do the whole big river track but unless you have a comp truck on 35s and lockers plus a good winch you will spend more time on a hundred metre stretch of bog than the rest of the track.We came came out the same way we went in and although the river had risen quite a bit it was an ok drive out. The third night was some where on the Napolean hill tracks. Beautifull place and the tunnels are well worth the drive. PS you now have to pay a Ten dollar per truck fee to acess the track. The local farmer has bought the road and has locked the gate. So if you come in from another way you cant get out. They have there cell phone number and landline number on the gate. We just managed to text them and they came and opened up for us to get out.the land line number is..03 732 3849.

The next time you go through there, when you come out of the tunnels instead of going through the farm land to the right, hang a left and follow the river down to the bridge where you can exit the river. Can be a bit tricky if the river is up .

I can think of lots of roads I'd like to buy.

Thats what we thought to but i think because it runs through their land they managed to. have since been told that a lot of farmers have been doing it.And to the other access post ! We came in off the main road after reefton heading south and turned left then left again onto a shingle road. past the gate the whole valley had been bulldozed up to the bottom of the hills. Was such a bleak sight.

I've been told that gate is locked as well now.
