I was sitting here earlier this afternoon wondering the same thing so I emailed the guy. He replied just a couple of minutes ago.
And it is exactly like Minefield has just said. The winches are on their way and will be here in 4-6 weeks. Once the winches arrive Michael will contact all those who placed an order and payment is to be made then.
I think this is very trusting and a little risky for him. What is several or all of us were to back out? He'd be stuck with a whole lot of winches with no immediate buyers.
My hat's off to Michael for not demanding payment up front. I would have at least expected to pay a deposit or something.

I have some synthetic rope coming out from China as a sample Its 11mm with a 9.5 tonne breaking strain.

On a 12000lb winch how much synthetic rope 11mm can you put on without overloading it.???

If it looks good and the price is right I will put a posting on to see who is interested, BUT , I intend to have it tested first

Cheers

That sounds good to me Graham. How much is it a meter?

I'd be keen to know how much you can get on the 12,000lbs spool too.

Anyhow - let me know if it looks to be quality stuff.

Will do, I only got there reply today and I will admit it looks damm good I have seen a photo of the rope and I have asked for a 1 metre sample I hope they will air freight me a sample, 9,5 tonne breaking is good as the stretchy strap has a breaking strain of 8 tonne.

When I get the sample as I said i will have it tested and will show to some of our club members to get there opion, THEN and only then, Will I try to get numbers, Or I may just bring it in bulk myself

Whats the report on these winches? Are they as good as expected, any issues so far?

Is there another run on them? If so when, I will have to put aside some pennies, it can be the kids Christmas present. I would love to see their little faces when Santa leaves a nice shiny new winch under the tree for them

As for more winches, I am going to check with the supplyer to see if we can get the same deal again, I can only try.

I can say they work as good as they look

Did a dead pull up a short steep hill & it preformed great!
the cordless remotes are fantastic as well !!

My to do's
I will wire the remote receiver up permanent in a waterproof box with a kill switch as the remote receiver don't look to water proof! but is to good not to use

& the power on/off switch on the solenoids looks a little dodgy for the ruff stuff so I am going to bypass that & add a one in the cab
