surf rear window motor

Hey I have recently purchased my first 4x4 a 89 hilux surf (LN130 i think, SSR limited) its the first of the new shapes. when i put the key in to wind down the rear window I can hear the motor running but the window doesnt go down. Same thing happens with the wee switch inside. ive tryed giving the window some downward force with my hands but to no avail. Any Sugestions out their???

Stripped gear, start pulling down.

You should be able to get the carpet panel off with the door and window up in place. Then undo the metal cover panel to expose the innards.
