Bring your Westie costumes.....they are similar to the redneck ones ..... Are you brining some of that famous Lion Red to swop for the local beer with the natives

If you make it closer to Easter/warbirds, you will have to get in early to book accomodation. Ie: pull finger and make a decision. The accomodation ( all types) is booked out all throughout Central Otago for that time of year. Also in April there is more chance of snow closing some of the tracks, and we know how you foriegners can't handle the cold now  .

We need to decide where we are going, I still want some form of schedule ie day 1 blah.....so what tracks are people keen to do? (I don't really know them).

And how far south do we want to go (north for you southies  do we hang around the west coast for a week and then shoot over to Chch for a couple of days?

could i make the suggestion that ya all man up and drive straight through to dunedin in one day then work ya way back up country via tracks like serptine oldman range etc.

ya could go from dunedin through serpintine, short 10min drive and up on to the old man at shingle creek drive along the tops and depending on how time is either come out at fruitlands or at alexandra via the frazer basin. stay the night in alex or push through to queenstown.

over to wanaka then head up the west coast via haast. do a couple of traks up the coast over to chch then everyone heads home from there?

just an idea from someone from deep within hillbilly country (roxburgh)
