OH and for all you Landrover owners out there you might want to buy as much oils of any kind that you can get your hands on as I think there is going to be a shortage in Christchurch as Kaneys truck leaks like a sive

Steve_t647 wrote:It does sound like the fuel filter with all the shakeing up and a lowish tank you possibly stired it up a little. Drain the tank into a bucket or similar and have a look at it if it is clean then take the filter off and tip the fuel out of the filter, if it pours out fine then look at the injectors.

It sounds like a fuel thing but earthing for the coil and Injectors could cause a similar issue.

Well the fuel filter clean as, played with the coil and it all seems ok. and it still doing the same thing trying to start but not running. sometimes one in 5 you maybe able to get it to run for a couple of seconds. next ideas?

I would go fuel pump as it is EFI

fuel pump test disconnect the fuel filter to injector rail and put a bucket there turn key on to start and see how full the bucket gets and how much pressure there is.

Also grab a multimeter and measure the voltage you see at the fuel pump may only be low voltage you should see close to battery voltage.

Check that the afm has not come unplugged. Can and has happened before
Also check all plugs and connections on the ignitor pack and coil. Pull the plugs apart and make sure that the wires are actually connected to the plugs. (that has also happened before!)

Oh and battery voltage too the shake up could have affected the alternator and the batt usage doesn't match the alternator.

And buying a whole new set of issues I would be Spewing too! :P Maybe you need to sell it I will give you $10.00.

Remember nothing is Perfect and the train journey is not gentle.

The pump could also be checked with clear pipe between the filter and rail to see if under pressure there is air in it, could be a bad or split fuel pickup too pretty rare but has happened.

Edit: for Spelling

If it has the Supra fuel pump there is a little gauze filter that sits in the input pipe into the pump itself - take the fuel hose off and its a cone-shaped filter with plastic frame - its there to stop big chunks of crap from getting from the tank into the pump... that can block easily so have a look there.
