Well iv seen it alot on american websites and it seems the the way to go with them, i was wondaring if someone could tell me what kind of price id be looking at?? what diff?

Good job - get stuck in and do it 
The easiest-to-source axle would be a Hilux one, although you would need to cut the axle up and swap it around for passenger-side-pumpkin - something that can be done, although obviously it needs to be done right.
As for leafs-vs-coils, yes leafs would be quick'n'easy and would probably perform well enough, they certainly worked well in the MU.
Cost-wise I think you'd be staring down the barrel of around $4.5-5k to have it done, finished, certified and back on the road, parts included if it was me doing it (make sure that you get a signed description of understanding about what you will have at the end of it, and whats included - I've heard horror stories of job prices escalating beyond belief because the person doing the job didn't (rightly or wrongly) disclose what the price they gave covered.
It would be good to see someone with a SAS'd Terrano out there, they are a good truck apart from the weak-as-piss front end which this would fix, and their ability to eat alternators - but the SAS is not likely to change anything there, other than making it easier to get to and change when it does blow up

Steve would you be able to cut everything off a hilux axle turn it upside down and spin the pinion gear over to the other side to speed thing's up (obviously new drain bung)
Just wondering if it would be quicker, means new mounts etc for springs shocks cost about the same but no cutting up the diff housing. if doable then you could stick toyota stuff under a lot more 4wd's

Tim and I are doing this to my offroad only terrano with a hilux axle next year, yes you heard right, a toyota part. We will go leaves as I want to try front leaves and rear coils. turning it upside down is not an option, too much work and cost. Stay away from the jeep stuff as it is expensive to repair. In respect to Steves comment about a signed description, a quote is a qoute, nothing more. When you start these things more work happens and is needed more then what you don't expect/estimate.

What the hell would you do that for? Why the fark would you go to hard ride, bad aproach/departure, and ugly instead of nice riding, good articulating coils which can give good aproach and departure angles.
Seems like a huge bloody waste of time to me
and why not just go for a bigger truck?

Ever driven a falcon-swapped Hilux? They don't ride hard, they don't affect the approach and departure is only a minor issue with big tyres and ugly is a state of mind (and the state of Roks truck apparently) and falcons outflex some coil setups I've seen easily.

I will be going for a Prado front axle as they are supposedly ralitavley easy to flip, cut, weld and hack and have all the necessary coily springy things that fit into the Terrano front end.
Was told about 5K to have it done pofessionally.

Why use toyota diff 
Wouldnt patrol be a option MQ/MK if the GQ one is to wide
Is the 4.56 toyota ratio close enough to the terrano 4.6 The terrano rears go into GQ front diffs i have been told
Just wondering as it would keep it all nissan. I know the toyota stuff is good but is it that much better
Maybe i should go and bash my terrano around a bit more and blow the front end and get an excuse to SAS it

safari stuff is stronger aswell. if the gq stuff is too wide, get it shortened/skinnyed up. can be easily done when the diff head is being moved. another option is to keep it the same width and just put a gq rear in at the same time. width equals stability, usually.
hope someone does one soon, SASs rule!

Yes My front axle is going in the Terrano (diff pumpkin chopped and swapped
)It will have crossover steer and thinking of putting falcons up front....cause I can (as offroad only)

Its not silly having leaves and coils combined.....whats cheap and waht works best...is best.....the front end on leaves will cost nothing but a little free time

The Toyota diff is next to free
And free....cheap/f$@k all is good when you build comp truk....Al and I will post pics as we build....not gonna happen till thcenew year due to trips and rock crawling trips
