You can use flexable pipe to move the intake to the back of the bonnet much further than that and you will need hole saws and solid pipe.
I have seen them made with all sorts of material the flexi tube is easy to run if it is protected in some way the external snorkles are more solid and a snorkle hat will set you back about $50.
Mine is metal just mild steel tacked then welded. The hard bit is figureing out how to attach the snorkle to the body of the car or where to drill holes.
If you run it into the cab you will get a lot of motor noise. Kaney has flexi hose run through the cab and out the back behind the cab and makes very little noise.
Good luck and with the double post post in one section, that way all the replies are in one thread and it can be moved.
Edit: Bloody Awefull Spelling!

i know it sounds stupid, but spend that little more and do similar to what kaney said and get a metal sucker bent up, if ya can leave the vehicle there, all the better.. last thing ya want when out wheelin is the thing to be hit by a rogue branch and it shatters or cracks...
just my 2 cents bro.. as you were..

To start with I don't think Steve_t647 was digging at your spelling, he was explaining why he had to edit his own post!
Homeschooling depends on the parents often, some parent's shouldn't home school, most do well. I too was homeschooled for a fair portion of my time. The youngest grad law student in NZ was homeschooled, and most homeschooled kids have less complications and are better focused.
The whole less-social thing is not a good argument - sure if your parents keep you secluded its not gonna work, but homeschooled kids have been seen to mix better with a range of different age groups and not just those their own age. In reality society is a mix of ages, in schools we get put with our own age group and kept that way every year until we hit the real world and then try to stay in our clicks - helps explain the generation gap.
Kids in the education mill get processed and the bright ones do well, the others fall by the way.
Regardless, its snorkels that count right now...
