Buying a pto winch

Post by jumper »

What to look out for when buying a pto winch?
As i have a 70 series pto unit on the t-case i am after the drum, shaft and lever, i have been offered a 60 or 70 series setup which would work better on the 40?

you will need to shorten the shaft to make it fit, I got a 60 one and had it done, I think that the 60 has two mounts mid shaft where the 70 only has one, (could be wrong, it happens from time to time  )
Toyota can still get parts ex japan, bit of a wait but the stuff I got was cheep as.
good luck with the mod

the drum is the same on either model the only difference is the driveshaft, you shouldn,t have to much of a problem .u need to measure from the output flange on your pto unit to the front of the chassis crossmember below your headlight panel.because you are 5 speed you will need a slightly longer shaft .hopefully either 60 or 70 series will work .easy enough to shorten
