There are traps here. It depends on what lexus you have brought. The mid sump is the only lexus that had a ecu for the engine alone. The rear and Front had the Auto ecu built into the ecu for the engine. I have run the mid sump with the lexus ECU and a special ECU that is not the diesel one. The diesel one doesnt work really. Remember that the Diesel auto ecu one is designed to change at a max revs 4200 when a lexus redlines factory at 6500.

I've got a rear sump out of a soarer - do you think it will have the trans ecu in it? Will it operate the vz trans?

I have heard the earlier ones may have a stand alone ecu for the auto, but like rocking horse shit. Rick would be your best bet on this at 4wd Accessories. He got mine working sweet. Lots of fun in the mud.

Lots lol i spent two weeks at Ricks shop sorting it. He now has a simple way, mine was the test vehicle you might say

Cheers madaz068. Yeah Rick can get it sorted. I saw him at lunchtime about it. I just want to be able to do it myself - cheaper eh. But Rick was heaps of help. Will prob end up getting him to finish off finer points of getting it to run properly.
Ps your prado looks great. Rick wanted you to take me for a blast in it. Must of just missed you.

You're right trans doesnt need signal from injectors but if you only run what needed for trans engine light stays on and other probs show up - some have tried this already and ended up using a stand alone ecu for trans.
