gen 2 v6 pajero idle issues

91 v6 3.0l pajero auto

the rev counter says 1000rpm exept it seems like its eather missing or idleing very low and struggles to idle, any pointers

had ecu overhauled 18months ago, been fine till now

once your diving its just like normal

Idle stepper motor I'd say at a guess. A common fault, they get gunked up as the crankcase breather goes into the inlet manifold just before the idle mechanism.

But I don't know why is should read 1000rpm....? When my stepper motor sighed enough it would just idle very low or not at all.
SWB V6 Paj with one or two mods ;)

Sorry for the late reply, but I will answer in case someone else has this problem and needs to self remedy

Yep been there done that, was the Idler stepper motor.
A quick strip and clean and we were away again
Have a look as these instructions

looks good, haven yet got around to it but, looks easier than i thort i had planed on going all out and ripping of the throttle body
