Replacement Ring and pinion

Post by BJ71 »

I am after a replacement crown wheel and pinion for a 94 Prado rear (with E-locker) 4.3 ratio.

i believe they are the same gear set as the heavier hilux turbo/v6 diffs.

does anybody know who in NZ or Oz can supply the gear sets at a resonable price, NOTE Toyota isn't one of them.

or if anyone has a none locker centre available i dont mind swaping the gear sets over.

Thanks

Tony

South Is Bearing supplies was recommended to me when I was pricing up 4.88's, they had a decent price IIRC. The wrecker in Rotorua is selling new hilux/prado R&p's for $250, I'd guess they'd have 4.3s.

Good quality ones from Italy, been well tested in rally cars too.

Is that new 4.88 R&P's for $250 Clint?

Is the Prado front high pinion physically the same?

Cheers
Matt.

Yep, I got a couple of prices around the $250 mark for new 4.88s

I haven't had the front chunk out to be sure but legend has it that it is the same apart from being 2-spider rather than 4 like the back & possibly a different spline on the sidegears.
