Trevor's 50

Post by Goose »

Just thought I'd put a post up about Trev's 50. 8)

Trevor has been working with Niblik and I as a temp, and naturally, talk turns to 4wd's  Trevor brought in an album of pictures of his little 50, which I've scanned and uploaded here: http://www.offroadexpress.co.nz/modules ... _album.php

I'll add a little more detail as time allows, but there's some cool history with it. It was original when he bought it, right down to the 2-stroke, but it had 2 re-powers. The first was a datsun 120Y motor and 5 speed. He had an adapter made to hook up to the LJ's transfer. Then when that got a little sad, in went a 180B motor! There's some funny stories as well, including the story behind the following picture, which yes, is a full bucket load of sand on the trailer! Trev says she towed it "no worries"!

Although the poor loader driver was a little confused.....

This pic is a favourite of mine.... I love the custom hood scoop 8)

It was needed to fit the 180B motor..... You can also see in some pics that the radiator had to be moved forward, and a custom cowl made. Pretty clever bugger is Trev!!

I hope all you suzi lovers enjoy

PS, most of the pics are from either around Mesopotamia Station, Big River, or Trev's brother-in-law's farm near Reefton, with a couple at the 'mak for good measure :D
