This was given to me by a friend which was taken out of a paper.

4WD SAFARI

Malvern Lions Club

From the Waimakariri to the Rakaia, through Mt Torlesse, Brooksdale, Annavale, Bell Hill and High Peak Stations.

High clearance vehicles only. No cars. No motorbikes. No dogs.

Bring your own lunch.

HOW MUCH-$45 per vehicle.

WHEN-Sunday 2nd December 2007.

WHERE-Starting at Mt Torlesse Station at 10:00am, sign posted from Springfield, finishing at High Peak Station.

Sounds like it would be a nice trip..but the price is a bit steep.....i think the people running these fundraisers must think we are all had big wallets to match the size of our vehicles.

na thats cheap , the $150 + extras can be hard on your wallet

This one sounds mint i might have to go.. What do they mean high clearance vehicles though? My 70 isnt lifted but its on 33s...

For fundraisers like this, the term "high clearance vehicle" is usually used to distinguish between 'soft roaders' and proper full sized 4wds. Your Cruiser will be fine :)

just curious.. was thinkin it could be a possibility.... could be... :D

Haven't done this particular trip before but previous lions trips have just been dirt/grass/gravel farm tracks.

Sounds like a good trip. Lions trip usually r good trip not hard farmers road but scenery u don't normally see. I'll be keen what channel do we use if ORE supporters r there

I am in hospital at the moment (going out of my mind) I am hoping to be out by Tuesday but wont be on the tracks for a few months :cry:

This Safari has been cancelled due to bad weather. :evil: :( I am not sure if there is a postponment date but will let you lot know as soon as I find out. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. :roll:

It appears that this trip is back on for this Sunday (6/4/08). Same time, same place, same directions, same sponsor, same trip info as page one. I wno't be able to make it but for those who do, enjoy yourselves 8) .

Oh and this time around I won't be getting up early to find out if it has been postponed due to bad weather. If rain is of a concern there will be a postmonement notice on newstalk ZB.
