badass spotlights - where ?

Post by SteveWrightNZ »

Sup,

Where can I find a new pair of seriously large spotlights for my shiny Surf ?

I want them for road use, to illuminate widely rather than for great distance (Surfs aint that fast). I'll set up some HID bulbs for them. Badddasssss.

Any suggestions ? Theres little or nothing on TM.

TIA,
S

Sounds like you're after some Lightforce lamps, maybe the 240 HID.

FYI, you can't install HID globes into lamps designed for incandescent globes, the beam pattern gets shot to hell - it's pretty hit and miss whether you'll find the results satisfactory or not.

I would jsut run Hella Rallye 4000's with the spread beam. they give plenty of light. If you have the money go for the HID version, Predator 4000's.

HID conversions are not as good, Most of the time they are no brighter or have a very focused dot and a big shadow.

If I was looking at new lights I would get new HID lights that way if they are not what you want you can replace them.
