Light on dashboard while engaging 4wd

Hi guys, a mate of mine with a 91 terrano 2.7td auto has a question. When he engages 4wd the 4wd light comes on. then when he shifts hi/lo lever into neutral an ATP light comes on and then when in lo 4wd the 4wd light comes back on. What is the ATP light for/about? any hints tips would be great

Its to tell you that the park brake function on the box is not working.

Obviously it won't be with the transfer case in neutral.
