I may have some longfields, will have to check, but I think you need some Hilux knuckles for them to fit.

Re: A Classic is Reborn
If it would help I could set you up with a whole 40 front end for $100. Manual hubs, drum brakes, axles, diff head and housing.
Planning on heading to Maratoto on Sunday so could drop off if you on the way???

Cheers for the offer man, i got a few options now, which is awesome !!!!!
I got some scheming to do, i got some parts from sig, which could be used to do a disc set up on your complete axle, VVega's been hunting and found a me a 70 series axle that might work, and then theres the idea i had in the earlier post.
Lotsa options now, cheers everyone, will try make up my mind tomorrow

Also on the go at the moment is a bit more modification to0 the winch setup.
This came about at Easter, when, after over 20years of abuse, the steering box decided to try to part company with the chassis, which meant it needed to be remounted. At the same time, the Runva EWX12000 winch was also playing games. Nothing to do with the actual winch is seems, but it was the VSR playing up, the result being a roasted (brand new) winch battery, and a dead VSR.That meant no power to the winch.
To fix the steering box propely, there needed to be a substantial amout of work done to the front of the chassis to get it stronger.
It also meant the low mount style winch was going to be an issue.
Just so happened that a mate had a near new 8274-50 for sale at a stunning price.
So here's how it goes:
New windy winchy thingy

Old mounts and stuff

Old steering box mounts

Another view

8274 winch mount fab in progress (going back to a roller fair lead rather than a Hawse). Got a mate to suss out getting it laser cut and cold folded, and now just massaging it to get it to fit perfectly.

Theres a diagonal gusset missing in the pic, but the tow hook will also mount on this end.

Steering box mounts to this end, the lower piece is welded to the inside of chassis rail, more gussets on back of mount.
