lol Goose, you crack me up mate.
Aye I'm hopin to get the ol' FJ on the road by then too, got bugger all left to do. It may be a few different colours and have skinny SATs on it but I'm keen to give the old girl a test. May not strictly need to worry bout the warrant an stuff either as it's literally across the road from where I live.

Nah mate sorry, the project FJ came with them on so I'll stick with em and see how she goes, had some on the Lada and they actually gripped surprisingly well. They'll do until I can afford some 33s or 35s anyway.

k, so I'm not really sure what an SAT tyre is  . I've seen Land Rovers on tyres similar to what's on my FJ and what were on my Lada described as SAT or SAT style.
What is the definition/meaning of SAT? The FJ has 16" tyres, narrow, look like crossplies with a strong zig-zag tread and pretty chunky on the shoulder.

Excuse my ignorance.

Found some Firestone Super All Traction tyres on Trademe, is that the thing? The tyres on my FJ definitely look pretty much like those althoug they're not Firestone branded tyres.
What's the deal with them not being allowed Ruf?

yeah, thats an SAT my son, sometimes called "farmer specials".

And rufzuk, no sat's allowed?? whats up with that? They're hardly a match for what half the other vehicles are gonna be on.... and if not sat's, I'll be running 215/15 duellers, and that'll just plain suk!!

oh well, not like I was gonna win anyway.....but I might of!!!!

neeehhhh, grumble grumble stupid-no-sat-rule grumble grumble

hey mongoose, you might have to find some tyres for the cruiser...

You could always walk it in your SAT gummys Goose. Or come and borrow my swampers.

Posted: Sun Jul 23, 2006 9:17 am
by Goose
why would i borrow your swampers??? you are going aren't you??!!

besides, i think i'd need a gas-axe to make enough room for the swampers, it's only a standard surf!!

was thinkin about it last night, (hardly slept a wink, worried about the "no sat" rule) the guy I'm buyin it off (good mate) has a spare set of 31"s I might be able to borrow for sheffield.....

you better be going Rok!!!!!

Or i'll tell everyone there that you're a big fraidy cat!!! 8-O

Yeah I'm going, but only to spectate. Going out in the playdoh (prado) so I don,t get tempted.

I only end up showing off in front of so many people and breaking things real bad.

9" grinders don't only work on IFS, I can sort your gaurds out for you in 30 mins or so. Tyres will fit then (won't be pretty though :? )
