On the 2nd low tide is at 9am on the 9th it is high tide at 9am So maybe go the 9th meet at 10 start trip at 10.30 and head around as the tide is going out. Or do it the oppisite direction as it will be low tide about 3.30pm.

OK if we go round red rocks on the 2nd the tide being in will probably be an issue.....if your previous info was correct.....so what is the suggested route now?

According to http://ofu.co.nz/graph/tides.php

low tide is at 9am high at 3pm so we should be rite aslong as no-one gets stuck right on the water line at the beginning of the trip.

Its alright we'd blame dodzee (if he's in your passenger seat) when you get stuck again as he is supposed to be your responsible person

...and you could blame him and tell everyone he told you to do it

The tide tables say that low tide on the 2nd will be at 8:45am. There is however a deviation of +45 mins at Karori Rock and +1hr 13 mins at Oteranga Bay to take into consideration.

So that means that if we are leaving at around 10:30 and get around there by about 11 we will catch the tide as it's just starting to come back in, with a high tide at 4pm.

Perfect timing :P

It's OK, there was a boat in the background there to tow you (I mean "that person") back to shore as the zuk floated out into Cook Strait. I've seen plenty of vids of floating zuks on You Tube!

Would the intention be to go accross cave bay to Oteranga bay then up on to terawhiti station or to go up behind lenny Monks house onto terawhiti before we get to cave bay

Don't like that bloody cave bay.... low tide or no low tide :?

Do we need to go round red rocks? that cuts down the time we can play in those lovely deep sticky muddy Terawhiti bogs which are plentiful. just a thought and eliminates any worry over tides....

As Mark said, Tides wont be a problem, ive been right around at high tide and i wasnt a problem anyway just not as much space to drive.

We dont need to but we are going to :D Im sure there will still be pleanty of time to get stuck in bogs in the afternoon and If we cut out red rocks its just a repeat of your trip on the 26th.

Sounds good to me. I think it's my sons b'day party the following weekend... or one of them anyway. I really should take more notice of what the hand brake tells me
