that driving position looks pretty close to the wheel, and the angle your foot needs to be on for the gas pedal can get pretty painful after a few km's.
also getting your head away from the top of the screen (or rollbar )would be advisable , shes gonna ride a lot different to the safari and your gonna be getting thrown around a lot with the leaf springs and the super short wheelbase

Somones done a really dodgy setup to run a ballast resistor coil, but other than that, its sweet, and i have wires for windscreen wipers and lights now. Sweeeeeet 8)

Well, i was tinkering around in the engine bay after swapping wiring looms from the parts truck, and last night managed to get a nice fat spark, and the engine turning over on the starter motor

So i thought hey, i know i need to reclean the carb as i realised i missed some circuts when i did it (found out when i got the work shop manual), and the spark plugs are pretty dirty and need replacing, but i'll hook some fuel/oil mix up to it and see what happens......

This is what happend

http://www.offroadexpress.co.nz/images/ ... up_NEW.avi

Its alive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like its running on 2 cylinders, and a couple of times bursts into three, but hey, i know whats wrong, and its easy to fix. All i need now is to set the cooling system up, and i can spend some time getting it running properly ( prolly better get the exhaust done too, neigbours won't be impressed) :D

( yes i jumped away when it fired the first time  )

 Yeah, those harnesses were a score, very pleased with them!!!!! (they are out of date for car rallying, so no use to anyone other than stock car drivers, boy racers and 4x4 guys)

Just waiting on the accellerator cable thats getting built, and then its all there to go for a spin up the drive and hopefully back again. Not sure what i will do about the fuel system though, can't mount the tank just yet, might have to put it on the floor on the passengers side and see if the mechanical fuel pump will do its thing...........................

So ya, maybe Saturday :P

Wopass (Ben)'s got a mate who's gonna wip it up when he gets some free time :D :D

No seriouse rush for it though, the projects on hold untill i get back from my Sth Island holiday at the end of April. Then its back to every spare moment i get thrown at it

In saying that though, its off to Mike Sanson at Waikato 4x4 Parts and Repairs to get a Nat Trials standard cage thrown in it this coming friday (23rd), so ROCK ON!!!!!!!!!
