This is becoming a real Land Rover disease during these summer months eh? When there is traction they break those flippin' pins holding the spider gears. That's three in three weeks, first me, then Pookie_Boy, and now Turoa.
Pretty sure Brian Howatt hasn't got any more spare diff heads either.
The engineers at our work are making Pookie_Boy a new pin out of some toolsteel. Be interesting to see if that last any longer than the stock pins.
1992 Land Rover Discovery V8i, 5 speed, 12000lbs winch, Salisbury rear, 110 front, 65mm spring lift, dents in every panel, Rallywoods pinstriping.

Yeah that was a great day. We managed to get away with nothing more than a few more scrub scratches... which I'm quite amazed about. I thought for sure that there would be a little panel damage driving through ruts as high as the high top roof of the Safari!

Thanks Marty for looking out for us and not sending us to certain doom and destruction. There are certainly some great places to play in there if you have a well set up truck.

The river made a huge difference with cleaning up at the end of the day. At least I know that the engine and seals are pretty water tight after putting it in the water over the bonnet! I had to pull the front off to empty the water out of the headlights tho...

It was good to see DaveM and Renee up from the deep dark south for a play. I think they enjoyed themselves. He was the only bugger that actually had a camera with him (from what I saw), so hopefully he's got a few pics to post up when he gets home tomorrow.

Ummmm, yeah.... you can probably remove Turoa from that list... not quite a problem with the diff itself aye Turoa? At least it happened at the end of the day like Sams CV's!

I had cool fun. Apart from putting a hole in the diff housing, and overheating I believe I did well with the smallest and crappiest tyres there.

The only thing that had me confused was that the RR was running better IN the river than it had been the whole day, I thought it would have been cutting out. It could have been that I had sprayed CRC (thanks jumper) over all the leads and distributor a couple of minutes before in an attempt to get it going

Cant wait to do it again in the LR and conqueor diff dinger
