could u post up more pictures of the coating you did like close ups ?

iv seen that stuff at super cheap too was thinking to do it to the mindy does it cover alot of panel work ? eg how thick does it go on ?

The one 2 pot pack covered the whole inside of my FJ40 tub. You can put it on as thick as you want. It seamed to give a really good coating, I would definately recommend it if you are thinking about it.

My one comment is that if you are using it over steel, make sure you get rid of ALL the rust, then rust treat the steel, etch it, paint it, then coat it with that stuff, as the rust can still work away quite happily underneath it

hey i was think would this rhino stuff not like stuff up because of engine heat ? i just went and got my self a pack from supercheap and was wanting to do the inside of the bonnet of the mahindra but been put off from my dad that it will #### up because of engine heat whats your thought ?

This is they 10C to +100C lining. Looks like it would have to be professionally done though.

Not sure mate, have you read the instructions that came with it?

I`m probabily going to paint my guards in the blue 2k paint i've got for the exterior now - will be easier to do the whole pannels rather than part this and part that.

Havent tried moving the tank yet.... Only thought about remiving the gearbox. Its only 4 bolts but is sooo heavy .

Tried sliding the t-case off about 50 times - doesnt seams to get any closer no mattter how many times I try.

Will have a look at the tank but am just plain pi$$ed off now so need a break (not another T-case brake )

from memory theres a nut holding it onto the gearbox.. 'idler nut' i think..

under the 'star' shaped cover.. about a 34mm nut or some shit, it'll have a corner bent over to lock onto a splined shaft..

Yeah, got all the bolts off - including the 2 inside the transfer case!!! (need to remove PTO plate to get to these!). Issue is T-case is about 150mm wide and there is not 150mm betwen end of splined shaft and fuel
tank!

Do you have any progressive pix of your mods MNC? Like a "photobucket.com" location? I'd be real interested to see. Even though I don't do the work you guys attempt to do on your 40's, i'm still on the edge of my seat looking at what you've done. My hat's off to ya.

Thats right, I've made NO progress

But, about to commence the following:
1. Convert vacuum 4wd selector on 70 series 5spd box to manual stick shift from 40 series 4spd setup (will put pic's up),
2. New body lift blocks (actually smaller that existing) to drop body onto chassis as low as possible,
3. Finish high steer setup,
4. Brackets to mount new seats,
5. New front guard brackets to achieve 50mm lift under guards,
6. Attach front pannels ready to go off to sparkey, and then
7. Paint.

MNC's build has been over a year in the making. I'm sure it's going to look way better than mine or the Surf. Looks aren't everything though.
I'm really interested to know what kind of 1/4 time you guys would do. Cause i know what kind of time I'm going to do.

Before this year's out I'll be giving my 40 and Clubsport a blast down the 1/4 mile. Can't wait. See you there aye MNC?? I'll let you know when.

As my motor produces more horses than yours I'll be making sure the drive train is up to it.
And the other thing. Mine is used 90% on road and 10% off road. So there was no point in making it the hell off roader. You can rule the mud and I'll rule the road. I'm still keen to meet you at Ruapuna this year. Me and some mates are hiring out the track for half a day. Would be good to see you and your 40 there mate.

I'm glad I got mine certed before they changed the law making it compulsory to put loops under both driveshafts. That's what you'll have to get done on yours if you want it on the road.

I'd say a well tuned V8 Lexus would smoke your V6 Surf mate. Those Lexus V8 have a surprising amount of grunt for what they are.
