I've got 2 x 24 bags of precooked sausages I'll bring along that have been sitting in the freezer.
Otherwise is there a plan about meals? Just cater for yourselves?

Meals are on a ad-hoc basis, normally it just turns into communal meal time

how do i register for queens b-day weekend? do i wait for that account to be approved then there will be an option?
thanks

you're having trouble, coz its an association thing, I clicked on the link too and realised waht you were on about

to do anything round here you have to belong to the special ORE association :x :x

rest assured you could still come though 8) 8)

you may just have to pick up the phone and ring someone like Mark or Jerry to get around the silly association bollocks :? :?

cheers

Skid, how about you get your facts straight before you start blurting out bullshit like that. If you had read the rest of the thread you would have seen that it was a simple administrative issue (see my previous post). And as for the "you're having trouble, coz its an association thing", registration has always, and still is, open to anyone whether you are a member of the association, registered (or not) on the association site or just a regular forum member.

I was merely alluding to the fact that when you click on the link it requires you to log in to the association, which we are not all members of.

It would be a lot handier if you could register without all the assoc stuff involved.

I tried the link, which required a password, which I don't have, and as I am a member of 2 clubs already and don't see the need to be joined to another, I decided to back out of the registration page as it seemed to be in the too hard basket, which is why I posted that maybe it would be easier to ring someone.

It seems I always have trouble deciphering the association stuff to do with ORE, so from now on I will just avoid anything to do with the ORE association and try my best to keep my head under the water long enough to keep it out of trouble.

Sorry for the threadjack and being a complete pain in the ass.

Warning recieved

You do not need to log into the Association site to complete the registration form. I set it up this way from the beginning to keep it simple for non-members to register. However, if you were registered on the site then logging in first meant that all your details were already populated and you basically just had to submit the form. Even simpler.

skid wrote:It seems I always have trouble deciphering the association stuff to do with ORE, so from now on I will just avoid anything to do with the ORE association and try my best to keep my head under the water long enough to keep it out of trouble.

The reason the ORE National 4x4 Association Inc. umbrella is being used to run this event is that with such a large event we really need to be covered for liability reasons, and the NZFWDA affiliation that the ORE National 4x4 Association has provides a $2,000,000 insurance policy. I don't want to go organising an event of this scale without some form of indemnity.

And as far as the requirement to register, this is to make sure that we - the organising committee, know how many people are actually going to turn up on the day. This is for two reasons: 1) Rallywoods is not a huge place and we need to know that if 50 trucks are going to turn up with a total of 150 people needing things like toilets and camping sites, that we can actually cater for that. 2) Akatarawa Forest Park access requires registered trip leaders and permits, etc. If we don't know how many people are going to be going on the Akas trip we can't plan for how many groups and leaders we need which means that the day would just suck for everybody.

I hope that this explanation helps you understand the complexities of the stuff that goes on behind the scenes. We haven't set this up to be difficult.

If you are definitely coming then please fill out the registration form at http://association.ore.co.nz/rallywoodsqbw2008 and follow the links to register. If you wake up on Saturday morning and decide to come down then just turn up and come and see me (someone will point you in the right direction).

typical Skid

goes in like a bull at a gate and doesn't make it to the bottom of the page on the assoc site, where there is a link to register.

my most humble apologies

lesson for skiddy

read everything and then read it again, just to make sure you get it.

bit like the preview function

dammit, I made a cock of myself again

At least you have the balls to admit you made a mistake, then to go further & apologise, which on some other web sites of which I am a member, something like this would have turned into a major bitch fight with everyone else taking sides.

Looks like i'm the camera man as the surf just spat the seals on the injector pump out. Will be a replacement jobbie it seems. As I cant get a refund on the ferry and fly up instead i'll be bringing my little runabout up. As I won't be driving ill only be there on the sat and for sat tea and won't stay the night cause i can't handle not driving two days in a row  . I intend to try and make some coolish footage/interviews 8)
