Oh the memories

This Thread is lacking in photos
As a few of you know i had major drama with my right angle distributor conversion earlier this year. ended up with the Zuk stuck in DB's shed for over a month while custom parts were made.
Origional Suzi Sport Angle Drive Kit

Whole Steel Shaft spins on non tolerance Alloy with no lateral support. Groves in shalft are supposed to pick up oil and lubricate every thing
Angle Drive setup in Place

At rear of cam shaft you can see the dog gear that sheared its little teeth off. Basically the steel shaft ate into the alloy housing and jamed. ............
Luckily it was in the shed at low revs and no major damage.
So i had custom work done by Howats in Wellington to make it right.

Howats machined down the shaft , fitted roller bearings and put the whole assembly inside a stationary sleeve . no more steel on alloy at high revs.
Also had Howats make me a spare dog gear as a trial spare.
Very happy with Brians work .
Front End of the engine got stripped down for a birthday

lots of nice shiney Bits

feul System got properly mounted
- ie not cable tied in place

Must get completed pics
low profile indicators fitted

more to come......

Re: Animal - The Project
Well......Lets just say we had a little issue with the torque setting on a particular gearbox bolt........
Result being an empty gearbox , then a 40km dash on a liter of ATF to get to the rescue party......
So she got named that %#$***&^ Animal of a *&^%#^$& Zuki and condemned to the naughty shed while I cooled off. Name has stuck though , in reflection of 3rd low, amongst other things.
Anyways , old gear box got pulled out today and a newer one put in. Also noticed the replacment transfer case long arm already has a bit of a twist in it.
Ready for an impending date with Weapon.
