*Please Note* this is NOT a shiney trip you will need a Good working winch and a good selection of recovery gear and good mud tyres.

ps maybe because of all the bs on another thread we should also say no lpg diesels as they will blow up

I have arranged parking in a padock (safe and out of sight ) at the start of Thomo's for all the tow vehicals and trailers for friday , At the small charge of a box of beer . If we put in a gold coin each should cover it . Dont know what you all think , but it keeps everything safe from any meatheads :( while were in the bush for the day.(some will know of a problem at Stadia a while ago ) I could go over to Wiataphita and sort something out over there as well for Saturdays trip if you want ?? Probly a good idea as there is limited parking at the top of the road .. Anyone had a telly up , Whos definatly coming ?

I thought the plan was to leave my front suspension in some big hole along the track, so that i don't have an excuse not to SAS the Surf.

does it release the air pressure when you unlock it? if it does it could be lack of lube yea... never played with one so only guessing but if it holds air theres your problem??

It should both lock and unlock easily, it has springs to return the piston when ya let the air out, tried wriggling the pinion as ya release it?

Nope..Air is good , Can feel air pulse when I flick the switch.. Take the hose off and air works but diff head with 2 axels in stays locked.. Rang ARB, They duno, Rang 4x4 mechanic mate and he suggested lube/stuck return spring. I dont want to pull it apart cos R&P all set up. Worryed about putting it in tho, If it dont come right it will have to come out again,,,Big Hammer??

You can pull the carrier with the arb in it, all you have to reset is the backlash, not a biggie, ya cw/pinion pattern wont change if ya backlash is set right again

PS, double check all the 12point bolts that hold the two halves of the arb together, I've had some of them looseish from factory
Wont help ya releasing problem, but will save it at a later date
