Somehow I ended up with the piece of paper with the North / South score on it, but its in the cruiser and I'm too shattered to be unloading anything tonight, but I can tell you them southern folk put up a good fight to only lose out to us northerners by about 50 points in total.
congrats to Tim Fensom, what an awesome way to go out

I'm sure I speak for both myself and Reece when I say thanks for all the plaudits, but I must say that without all of those of you who helped this weekend it wouldn't of happened and more importantly those of you who helped clear the snow damaged tracks over the last few months so this event could happen, but without a doubt my biggest thanks must go to Reece Hearst himself for going to Rallywoods nearly every weekend in the last months to ensure the tracks were being cleared and also to Lyn for allowing him to disappear every weekend to make this happen.
BIG THANKS

Also I hobbled my tired aching body out to the cruiser for bit of paper...............
Top 3 North Island trucks..
1401 1292 1165 for a total of 3858
Top 3 South Island trucks..
1322 1251 1231 for a total of 3804
so the North Island only won the North/South Challenge by 54 points, pretty close weekend fullas

It goes without saying, thanks Skid, you said just over 12 months ago that we would host part of the Winch Challenge and turn it in to a North/South winch challenge... I thought to myself what have I got myself in to with this.......
It is true what Skid said, for the last three months I have been going to Rallywoods every weekend for track clearing (missed one due to family matters) and been clearing all the tracks due to the snow damage, to those that came and helped clear, thank you, your help was very much appreciated.
Thanks to all those that entered the event and for traveling as far as you did! I hope that we didn't let you down with the stages that were set in Rallywoods, and remember if you enjoyed yourselves, dig it in to the ones that didn't make it.. because from the feedback I have received thus far it was FARKEN AWESOME.
To all the helpers and marshal's, thanks so much it wouldn't have run so smoothly without your help.
I have the times and points to upload to my laptop and will do that tonight, then I will upload them to here for all to see.
Again, thanks to all those that help marshal, those that turned up to participate and to Mark Pincock for suggesting this event.
Cheers all Reece

Regardless of where we are living, Reece and Skid, put my name down again for marshal somewhere.
I have been tapped by competitors and support staff all saying nice things about how well the Event was run, the prep work, the venue, etc etc, as if i had anything to do with it!!
As a marshal, I had a ball, met some great people, put faces to names etc, and learn't a helluva lot of stuff I will never put to use fukkit!!
(Went and got the dunny and returned it to the hire centre.)
Only took ONE video, will post the pubic hair race up later, if Possum doesnt mind?
Carried the camera around with me all weekend but only managed to use it at the very start and the very end of the event as I found myself far too busy the rest of the time.
I would like to thank Dave from 4x4 Challenges for coming down and looking after the scoring for us as well as George from 4x4 Challenges for scrutinizing all the trucks.

Again a big thanks to all that helped out during this weekends Winch Challenge!!
I also heard that this was Tim's last winch challenge and what a way to exit Congratulations to both Tim and Richard on their win.
Looking forward to the next one that we run, maybe two years away but as the competitors from this year can tell you, you need to build your trucks strong to handle our tracks and terrain in Rallywoods.
Cheers Reece

Where do I start, Cheers to everyone involved with running this event, Reece, Skid, Marty, Bob, Taz, Cindy and everyone else that was involved, sorry I forgot your names All the usual challenge class drivers were really impressed with your professionalism and the way that you conducted the vechicle recoveries Was a wicked event, with quite possibly the most difficult stage ive competed in all year. Thanks to my stand in navi Richard for not killing me in the dumb places I choose to get stuck. Everyone that didnt go most definently missed out on a bloody good comp and I can only see it getting bigger in the years to come.
Tim

I must also point out that the comradery between competitors is bloody awesome.
I've only been to a grand total of 2 winch challenges before, both of them being at Rotorua. At both of those I witnessed competitors helping recover other competitors dead trucks out of stages and next thing I know I'm running a challenge and asking the competitors to help out and assist in recovering others. As per usual they jump to help and its bloody awesome to see.
So big ups to those of you that helped recover Turoa when he rolled, Aaron when he blew up and Gary and Pete when they had issues and also to note that whilst running the night stage on saturday, Stan jumps on the radio to say he'd heard crashing trees like somebody had rolled, and he was right good ears that man has, thankfully Bob was recovering himself and finishing the stage.
you guys all rock and without the organisors, helpers and the competitors it wouldn't happen.
About 1 month ago I was looking for an excuse to can the event, but now you've made me think it could possibly be run again and be bigger and better

Last seen driving it on the trailer for the local christmas parade. He still has not had a chance to have a nosy at the damage.
