tentatively keen (depends opn getting time off work and mrs approval lol)...

Ive got a fairly beaten ln65 with 2.8 non turb (3l) in it on fairly worn maxxis 32's mudders, bob tailed with lockrights front & rear, detachable winch (front & rear).. what group do you think it would be in? havent been out 4wding in a few years but use to go fairly hard a wee way back...

do we sort out own accommodation in reefton and meet up in the morning or is everyone bunking down in the one spot? also is it kid friendly (have a 2 &1/2 year old boy who loves the mud) - if not no dramas grandparents are great :)

I am staying at the reefton camp ground with the wife and kids, youngest is 2. Wife and young one will do easiier grade trips but will stay in Reefton if I get into a harder trip. we have family there for her to visit.
I would suggest not heading with the hard core boys but there will be a few other trips happening you will be fine on.

I used to take my boys into the chasm and on all hard trips, just not the real hard piss trips  . You will need ya missus though to do a fair bit of babysitting when your doing the full on recoveries. third time into the chasm, my missus threatened divorce.

My kids do most of the 4wding we do, But mine 'who must be obeyed' isn't keen on the winter mud so I will take them through another time with a small group of mates so we can pull out if need be.
Will take the family in Alexander, Slab Hut etc

I just mentioned this trip to wife who is more of a 5 star hotel kind of girl.

Her response was "west coast, winter and camping, you got to be joking", shame it sounds good to me.

If you are intending to come along, a good place to stay is the old nurses home, Al, Rude and myself are booked.
Would be a good idea to book now as it may fill up with a canterbury club as there are a few and they generally run trips that time of the year as well.
Here's a link to there site, you can book online or phone them.
