Re: another terrano/safari project = terrari
i had forgotten about that. im starting to think that might have been that wandering feeling i felt when driving it ? p/s do you want to do some winch mounts for it.
I'd say so. I've got a mate with about 2" of lift in his Terrano. He doesn't notice it but it would drive me nuts. I think I'd get motion sickness after a long drive
Sure can do. Give me a call

Re: another terrano/safari project = terrari
picked truck up on Friday night, trans tunnel 80% done and a bill for $600. so was a quick reminder of why i like to do as much as possible my self.

i just need to make a lid and cut some gearstick holes. then paint and seal every thing that needs it. will give it a good push tomorrow. also looking for a standard type nissan gear knob, if any one has one for sale.

Re: another terrano/safari project = terrari
looking good, my one has just been butchered, but its getting there.
it went for its first test run, steering's good, brakes are a little spongy and wont select park, but hes pretty sure he knows what that is.
And 600 is nothing, my bill so far is $4500. and $2,500 for parts........

Looks pretty good Pete. When you make the lid will you put any in trays/cupholders or do you have other plans? Looks like theres abit of room to play with behind the gear levers
Could incorperate something cool.

a few more finishing touches needed but ya get the idea.

pto all hocked up and working had to slightly modify the pto cable bracket no biggie tho,
next is pull out rest of carpet and seal up the holes from the old side steps. then the interior will start to go back in.

Re: another terrano/safari project = terrari
got rained off today, so had some unexpected progress.
i sealed up the insides with m.s. and put the carpets back in had to cut up the front carpets a bit tho because gearbox tunnel mods. there was a fatality today to my piggy bank had a terrible accident with the angle grinder, so while i was grieving on my loss. i brought a adj front panhard rod and five new BF Goodrich mud tyres the ones on special at mo on 4wd bits web site. i still need some rims, but that's enough spending for one day.

Re: another terrano/safari project = terrari
found some extra time today so made most of it and installed new panhard rod.

also started back on the sliders, the ones i started way back on page 8

will have two bolts on each 'U' bit. nuts will be welded on.
here's where i stuffed up, im a dumb ass.

i wanted to put three outriggers on but Ive welded on the the sway bay bracket, in the most suitable place for the third outrigger at the front.
i should cut off sway bar bracket and weld to 'U' bit and combined with outrigger. but that's in the bastard job section at mo, will ignore it for a few day see if it fixes itself.

Re: another terrano/safari project = terrari
Why are you bothering to make the sliders bolt on? Theres no issue with cert and bars welded to the chassis.
Have you thought about incorperating the swaybar link mount into the slider? You've got a welder...... Just chop and hack

Re: another terrano/safari project = terrari
not much progress this weekend due to rain, but went to some weaker yards and got some parts i needed, gear knob, gearstick rubber boots, bump stops.
i brought a cheap t/m notcher. after some adjustments, it works really well.

Re: another terrano/safari project = terrari
not much progress lately, just lots of we finishing jobs that where half started and forgotten about.
this pic is just a height comparison from my truck, to a stock bt50. its hard to believe the terrano has been lifted at all, let alone 130mm.

sliders finished just wee bit more on other side.

handbrake cables lowed.

pto selector all hocked up and working.

Re: another terrano/safari project = terrari
finished the rear flares

cant do the front with the same stuff as it wee bit too skinny. so will have to come up with another idea for that.
