Engine hadn't run for three years.. and it fired on the second attempt (and would have fired up first go with good battery on it).. NO issues at all...............Just brilliant

I couldn't believe how easy Vvega made it look. He was bloody fast too.
Was awesome to have a few of the Waikato crew there to share the experience.
It is a huge relief to have the engine start after sitting around all that time. Having seen a few other build threads where there have been some major issues an engine rebuild would have broken me

Fair enough, but...
Got another little distraction on at the moment. A busted front diff in my bush truck . That truck is a runner so want to keep it going while I finish the Lexus build.
Boggers on that truck will probabily be for sale next week to, Four 33x14x15s
I did have 3 FJ40's plus 2 but now only have 2 plus 2. May be selling another FJ40 soon to - Chassis, body, windscreen, diffs + springs (rolling) if anyone is interested, which would leave me with 2 plus 1 left.
Trying to get some cash together to fix up the brown truck too
good work on the project fella... the sound from the engine is a bit off though guy.. not enough rattle in it.. or smoke.. actually.. sounds nothing like the beefy 3b power plant you were wanting...?
pm me with a price ya thinkin of for the boggers guy.. always interested..

Dude I'm going to have to jump the hazards you just flex and drive over so I need the extra power

fuel pump reg pressure to rail right?
_dea (no idea) . I should plumb in a surge tank to make sure there is always a supply of gas to.
check pressure specs of what the 1uz needs and get a gauge to fit in line so you can see if it is right at a glance. does it have a pressure reg in it? that monster trap filter may be restricting fuel flow too much... just ideas and things to check
If you already know everything, DON'T ask bloody questions!!
wop's on the money the pump supplys enough fuel .. ive checked the specs the uz runs 39.5 base pressure .. but your useing the stock reg .. so that will be fine .. the fact it runs says it is fine too
cheeck flow on the filter ..
other than that .. air leaks on the suction side and yeah .. uz's on cold idle use a PILE of fuel

Could it be that the breather on the fuel tank is blocked at the mo? Got to run that line yet

my hilux, landrover, dads nissan, brothers suzuki (all with commy external pumps) and heaps of other people I know, have never had a problem.
Sweet, I wont put it high on the list then. Plenty of other more important stuff to sort first.
Current priorities are: Brakes - rear disc conversion, and plum up lines, Drive lengths sorted, Weld up spring perches, & Clutch - need a slave cylinder - what will bolt onto the Lexus? Any pics?

Ring up abc (automotive brake and clutch) in barry's point road they'll know exactly what ya need. and he lives on the coast so you wouldn't have to drive out there to get it. Used him a couple of times now and he's been wickedly helpful.
