Oh that's rich Mr Suprashed

And as for why it's different, try the words "No Insurance Cover for Competition"; if I have a wee accident or three offroad (or even on-road) I'm covered, but if I do a dead-ant at a mudplug, I'm screwed. When I had a wee fund in reserve, such considerations were less governing; hence my initial entry, and subsequent withdrawal post unplanned expense. I dont think anyone who knows me can seriously question my committment to "use it", or abuse it

Now back to topic hijacker's
Made a call this afternoon, may get an entry yet, will know tomorrow 8) .
If not I'm still headng out for the day, never know, someone may chicken out. I've got the banner, tentpoles, and large tarp. Who's got the BBQ, who's coming as "pit crew"/spectators? Shall we meet somewhere early and arrive enmasse? Thinking the entrants could all arrive together as they have to sign in at 0830, spectators could come later? Enmasse could be better. 8) 8) 8) what you dudes think?

Fine by me. If someone wants to name a place and time to meet just prior to heading in then post it and I'll be there. Matt

How about West Melton at 7.45am. I'll be coming across Weedons-Ross Rd from Rolleston?? If you guys still want to meet at Yaldhurst thats cool but I'll wait at West Melton anyway. Rather not back-track. Matt

Nibby and I will see you all out at Sheffield

Leithy-you poor bastard  . i had a kidney stone about 18 months ago and drugs were the answer!!! not just any drugs.....good drugs...hard drugs like Morphine, after suffering the male version of labour pains for hours it was instant relief. And once your relaxed it helps the kidney stone pass. I was in hospital in the morning but 4wding that afternoon  I just had to take the truck out cause it was my very first outing in the Cruiser. Hope you are better by Sunday

Hi people. Im going to try and come out for a look, but I have no idea where to go, (and I have no intection of being at yaldhurst at 7:30 either :-D ) so if you could please give me a locatiion, and time of the event I'll do my best to come out.

Gps co-ords would be fine for a directional point, lol, I'll find it on the map, hehehe

I am guessing that the details may have already been said, but I had a brief look through a couple of pages, (not going to hunt through 15) so please excuse my ignorance if it has already been posted.

I did see it mantioned there would be a tent for ORE members? Is there any way of finding other forum users? Im new to 4x4ing ya see, and know no one, nor do I belong to a club, YET!

Elmo: Do you know how to get to sheffield? or darfield? its on the main road, so head out through yaldhurst, and just keep following the main road (as if going to the coast), if you get to sheffield, you've gone a couple of k's too far.... its just before sheffield,(on the left) and usually well signed.

Hi Elmo. Find Sheffeild on the Map. Its just out through Darfield. Waltz on up to the ORE tent and introduce yourself. The guys will introduce you to a few folks I'm sure. I'd offer to do it myself but I'll be out there on the course showing you all what not to do probably.

Thanks Goose, yes, I do know how to get to Shefeild.

Cheers for that, I'll do my best to come out.

It looks like we will be there at 9ish or there abouts, but I will still be bringin the forms to be signed and my camera too.
See you all there.

NB.Does anyone know if there is any snow at Porters Pass? Have a Saudi student comming with us who has never seen snow.

We were at lake Lyndon 2 weeks ago, still some snow on the road at top of porters. Lake Lyndon was still about a 1/4 frozen at the lodge end. Was still snow covering some parts of the road through to Coleridge also.

Im sure with the cold snap we had a few days ago it would have dumped some more up there.
