Midday sounds good. I reckon we should plan on meeting no later than 1pm as you can bet we will be waiting on somebody - and we want to get up there with plenty of day light left.

Just how many people are still going? Seems to be more than a few defections out of Wellington.

FIREWOOD

IcedJohno will be bringing his trailer and is able to get cheap wood. For $10 a truck (possibly a bit more if not many people are keen?) he is happy to bring some down (for both huts). If you would prefer this than to take your own post in here AND/or PM him please so he has an idea of numbers.

ClassicCruiserSpares wrote:I think we need to leave rolly Bp at 9am sharp!! :D

Yeah we are leaving at 9am chaps, no waiting for Cindy or anyone to do their shopping this year

If you are running late you will have to catch up on the road or in Tekapo.

I caused some confusion by bypassing Geraldine last year so will just fang through it this time, but really so long as you know where you are going and are heading towards Tekapo I wouldn't worry about what anyone else is doing

Don't want to mess around in Tekapo either as there will be a few tents to sort this year so spread out over both gas stations please and meet in the car park just past the Shell on the right (at the end of that block of buildings).

If someone is running a bit behind that doesn't know where to go in from Tekapo, don't stress, phone or message ahead and we will sort someone to wait rather than all waiting and holding everyone up.

PM me for my number if you want it.

Also, when we all park at the hut please be bare in mind that some people like to sleep on the flat  so if you are not sleeping in your truck don't take up good ground for someone who is or a tent.

If the rivers are to high or there is to much snow (YES PLEASE  ) for the trailer we will have to spread a bit out between trucks and take more on the way past for the second night if needed.

Is that what took so long? Could ye not find it? Is literally one intersection away like  :P

Speaking of which:

There is a New World in Rolleston if people would like to shop there before the 9am departure.

Alternatively there is a Pak n' Save and Countdown in Hornby if you are coming that way.

I doubt there will be too much snow for the trailer, it regularly drives up a steep mountain track in 1 to 2 feet. High rivers are another thing again though...

Thanks Taz for putting this up
OK so here's the start of a list. Please add to this if you want a large quantity of very dry wood at bottom dollar prices.
This way we can leave wood at each hut (good for 4x PR) and have some raging bonfires as well.
