ha a good time at Woodhill but took the snorkel testing to un unplanned level. Lost traction and got scared and turned off my engine which was a mistake!!!
Re: Suzuki+SR20DET+Hilux Axels+coils+Exo Cage
Was left there for a good 15 minutes while my cylinders filled with water, threw the exhaust. But the guys helped heaps by eating Dorito's
But intake stayed dry at least.

But after my swim my wiring harness soak threw and stopped working.
So decided to finally do my wiring properly and make it water proof

Re: Suzuki+SR20DET+Hilux Axels+coils+Exo Cage
Pic is at club trip an hour before smashing a front cv (the not chromoly one) then rolling down a hill and bending panhard rod in the rear. but no other real damage.

Re: Suzuki+SR20DET+Hilux Axels+coils+Exo Cage
Straightened rear panhard rod and welded 6mm flat plate to strengthen it up.
But found that it had ripped the chasse apart so got to cutting and gusseting it up.

Cut a bit out my gas tank to clear new position of panhard. Hope she don't leak

Re: Suzuki+SR20DET+Hilux Axels+coils+Exo Cage
Sump got hit by front diff smashing up under some crazy driving so got around to fixing it. Save some cash on topping up oil all the time.

Not going to rear mount it obviously?
Thought I'd just throw that at you now that you have already cut a hole in your bumper.

Hey man ya tried it out in the back when I had my fuel tank out but bit big. And wanted to keep my rear tray free for passengers one day when the cage makes it back there.

Good work on the bar, that sits in there nice!
An 8274 will pull a zook around like it's not even there, nothing like a bit of overkill I reckon
Cheers

Thanks Clint yup beast of a winch.
Looking forward to upgrading the motor to the 9.5 hp when some cash comes my way
Got trigger happy with the impact wrench on the winch studs and twisted the windings off.
But managed to solder them back on with a blow torch.

Re: Suzuki+SR20DET+Hilux Axels+coils+Exo Cage
Do you mean a 9.5xp warn motor which is 6 hp?
If so, when the time comes hit me up. I have one I bought in Canada from Warn (it doesn't have the flash end cap on it though). Literally only used it for two days before selling my 8274 and putting a Toyota winch on. Definitely went good compared to the standard motor. It has been sitting in it's cardboard box for a few years now.

Re: Suzuki+SR20DET+Hilux Axels+coils+Exo Cage
Thanks Arron yup that's what I mean. Very keen will pm u when I find some dosh
Painted the front bumper black but mixed too much so painted my hood to stop the rust.
Started bending up some chromoly tube to finish off the exo cage.
Want to buy a fastback soft top so I don't have a canopy hanging out back getting smashed. Any ideas where to buy?

Are you going to replace with with the one I have here for you.
Cheers

Re: Suzuki+SR20DET+Hilux Axels+coils+Exo Cage
Hey Tim ha ha yup haven't forgotten. Had an old cv lying around so that will have to do for now. But very impressed at how strong the moly ones are

Broke the bank
Now rocking 35 Silverstone's on freshly powder coated rims. They just tuck up in the rear with no space to spare.

That's a bloody cool truck you've built there!
modified surf, hardly drive it seem to keep modifying it....
Re: Suzuki+SR20DET+Hilux Axels+coils+Exo Cage
Little Suzuki 1 liter transfer case couldnt handle the sr20 power nor the grip of 35 silvys. So now for some upgrade to Toyota Hilux gearbox and transfer case.
So the plan is it keep sr20 flywheel and pressure plate. Then use the hilux clutch. luckily the sr release bearing fits the Hilux spigit
So cut the sr bell housing off and same oft the Hilux. so far so good

Re: Suzuki+SR20DET+Hilux Axels+coils+Exo Cage
Yup have some extra drive to get done still haven't tested out the new tyres. Blew the winch motor towing her out after transfer case died. So will pm u for that motor:D
Re: Suzuki+SR20DET+Hilux Axels+coils+Exo Cage
Test drive went mint. Low range is nice and low. Feels strong. Tyres are crazy so much grip.
Had a winch left over after selling my other truck, so got to installing it in the back. Also building a cage in the back for passengers in the not to distant future.

The fairlead sits just through the tail gate so u can still open it up.
Re: Suzuki+SR20DET+Hilux Axels+coils+Exo Cage
Just enough space for my battery
With some beefy tie downs.
