mike wrote:Think I've got it all together now. Finally mounted up the 4wd switch to give me an advantage over you part time 4wders, found the two bonnet pins i was missing so the bonnet doesnt fly off, sorted out a tarp for the roof held it on with bits of wood, cut some excess wires out of the dashboard and got the fuel pump one by accident, put some more cable ties in the grill to hold it on better, did the door hinges up so it wont fall off tomorrow as it was as loose as hell, spaced out the door latch so hopefully it wont open all the time, put some oil in the old girl as she was quite low (someone must be stealing it!) charged the battery, found the front tow hook so she is all set now to take out first place
Mike

Yip I know, I put it there to have the album set up so I could upload some pics while I was there, alas the Vodem wouldn't play the game out there.
Some pics are being uploaded now.

I will change the permissions so everyone who took pics can add them if they want to.
I also had about 40 minutes of TV quality video when we left, My Camera man friend is still there, hopefully i will see some of the footage up tonight.
Watch this space.
Weather was a bit WET!! Couple of early exits, one being Albundy, who blew a CV very early, and one yellow 40 with a sweet V8 that may have rolled

Twas okay, if a little damp.
Mike, and I can't believe I am saying this, but your POS LR sounds an absolute treat

.
The LR was on song, and when you couldn't see it, but hear it, you just look around for the wee cloud of blue smoke, and there you were.
Looking forward to dragging you out on a trip when the big booties are on

Just watched some vid footage and omg I didnt actually realise how much smoke the old girl is putting out (cant turn my head that far back

)
AWESOME day had a ball! even if i could barely drive out of the last hazard in first gear with it dying

It was good to see all the familiar faces of ORE and meet the new ones I havnt had the chance yet of meeting.
Cheers for the loan of the battery and jacket Al, life savers.
Very happy with our result and how the old girl went. Got 4th in our class and got to pick a very nice shiney set of bling bling spotties for the LR(double its value) or the surf(might make me hurry up and fix it)
So whens the next one?
Mike
