Lets put it this way - Skid earned some beer credits from me.
Anyone have some PTO shear pin recommendations? Kind of getting a tiny bit sick of fitting pins just to have them break at the slightest load - a mere 3 tons!
So far concrete nails and 8/8 bolts have been suggested as pin replacements.
Does anyone know the rating of the gear box drive cogs and the drive shafts i.e. where is the next weak point?

I told you Rick, concrete nails. I have used them for 20 odd years on PTO winches, with no ill effect on any part of the system. And yes, they will shear, but under a more realistic load than the standard pins. Just get the size that will fit through the hole snugly, then give the end a slight bend with pliars to stop it falling out.

Or you could remove a few items from your vehicle like Dive air tanks

... Spare Cruiser

that would shed about half a ton

I used to use a 10.2 cap screw, ya drive shaft will break first then

got the pics the wrong way round pic 1(which was pic 2)1was meant to show the carb intake with all the shit round it
and pic 2 (was pic 1) was to show how much more shit was injested when we all had an opnion
