I don't mind being corrected either.
But from my view. A rope that goes dead on breaking rather than wiping around with such force taking out windscreens or limbs or heads sounds safer.

I'm all for the "put the bonnet up so it covers the windscreen idea". Easy to do and requires no extra parts!

Although come to think of it ... not sure if my bonnet would open all the way back to lean against the windscreen.

doesn't matter - mine doesn't either but still enough to do the job.

Ha the poor guy had his kids out in the great outdoors doing real stuff not sitting in front of a computer /tv or playstation and they will have plenty of time to learn the correct ways of recovery by watching/helping their father do it
gees give the bloke a break and guess your all right about comments
still sound gooooood

It's all good Warren. I like being told the do's n don'ts of recovery by people that know their stuff. I'm only glad the rope didn't break that time.

I'll know what to do next time.
