Well Abbo had a wee dilemia with his POS last weekend, I removed the driveshaft on Friday arvo and found the bearing flopping around like a c.ck in a sock

So saturday off to pick-up a loaner diff for the wagon, guess where i got it from.......... :?: :? :?

Here is a clue

Anyway Abbo rang and said that not a lot was coming out of the diff, when he removed the bung...

:? :?

However after we removed the diff the reason behind the bearing failure ( it was in pieces ) became rather aparent.

Would you believe that there are some gears somewhere in this mess???

Wonder why it failed???

Any ways pulled the cluch that was compleatly f@#cked so changed that arround.

then put back to geather... that was my weekend.

on that note, i picked up a pajero T.case for a guy this weekend from hamilton, and the guy has a million bits for mitzis and surfs on a hanger :o has lots of drive shafts and engines and G.boxes body parts etc.... if you own a surf and want parts it would be heaven!!

Went for a play to test the new (to me) engine out and got it absoloutely covered in mud. Unfortunately i also got my brand new radiator covered in mud :( :( . How do you guys clean em? Think i'll take it out again and soak it or something and make a bracket up for some sort of blind.

You have to take the radiator out to clean it properly, I waterblast mine, start far away to work out how close you can get before you start bending the fins over and keep alternating back and front as you flush it, when theres only clean water coming out of it you've got all the mud out

Sweet i'll give that a go. don't wanna bend the fins on it as the reason i changed it was cause when i took the old one out they were all bent already

well i no its a week late but i finally thought id post what i did. went outside a week before and saw a bit of rust in the boat trailer, went and got the chip hammer and it went straight threw it so i inspected some more. it was pretty rusty. so spent quite a while grinding one of the main rails off and found all this.

so il just reweld a new rail back in and the other rust spots that arnt too bad i will weld some plate over them after i cut the rust out.has taken me all week to paint the axle mounts in the last pick as i have been doing it after work and been waiting overnight for paint to dry.
