13bt are absolute bricksh&#houses bought mine with the intake and intercooler full of waimak silt and boost wound up and injector pump wound out previous owner had 15psi goin thru it and treated it badly,i recently met the 3rd old owner and he told me he sold it 3 years ago because he was certain it was going to die
as of today it has never died and runs very clean other than excess diesel making black smoke under heavy acceleration
im running 36" tsl sx superswampers on steel beadlock rims (very heavy) and it has a heap of power and dam good economy
when my 13bt goes bang i will be getting another

I missed out and only had a G13B, close too your current set up

Peak power and torque at 6000 + rpm, funny that Tus got the same engine

As I said earler, Just my 2c worth.. I dont beleave its worth ripping out a good 3.4 turbo Diesel to put in a mtr that makes all its power and Torque at 5/6k ? when with a bit of a TWEAK you can get a good performing 4x4. What ever, Its not my $$$

I Agree with Wayne. I think it is a backward step to take out a good 13BT that has torque at the bottom where you need it for traction.
The only thing you gain is a nice sound.

I have Twin lockers , beadlocked 35's so i have some good traction ,alot of the The places I go out playing or get stuck you need to spin the wheels with high revving , and im pretty sure this wil flick the mud a bit better.
But ive never Owned a v8 or petrol 4x4 ,My last two vehicles have been Diesel,
so will give It a go,

The way I have heard your 13BT rev Crizpy, you better tow a small petrol tanker behind you.

Hi Crizpy, good luck with your sale, $3+K is not unreasonable for a good 13BT and you have already got the dream and the parts to fit the V8

, . Being an owner of a 70# with slightly modified 3F petrol I feel I can debate the rev's verse traction verse control. My 4lt petrol scoffer will break into wheel spin while you are thinking about putting your boot down, this has caused me more grief with traction issues and bad landings than a steady as she goes style of driving . Many a time I have been left stranded while the Black Smokers drive by. I must admit when It does go right at 6000rpm with my very unmuffled exhaust system,
YA GOTTA

FITZY.

some years back they made a rule in the tourer car racing class in Oz that 5L was the max engine size,308 is over 5L but 304 is not,I could be wrong....has happened many a time...

Give it to me, I'll fix that. Turbo diesels are the easiest and cheapest of any engine anywhere to get more power and torque from.
My 3.8 litre turbo Isuzu has more torque than the best NA 350 chev ever built and it's there from 1400rpm.
IMO petrol engines are only good for throwing mud, diesels are far superior for offroad use.

I have never been out performed by an oil burner yet, had to tow plenty up the papa corner at costa though, the ability to get ya donk to pull 6500rpm in third low off the mark cant be beaten and mines not even a v8,
I had a 70 cruiser and it had plenty of torque but lacked the rpm for the hard stuff,
My 2c go the v8
