get a price from someone else then or tell the guy to sharpeen his pencil cos thats about full retail for them :o

from memory the 33"s were 200 each inc gst and fitted and the 35"s were 240?each inc gst and fitted

Yeah, where was that from Benny?

For 33's, Beauies are retailing them at $380.00 (+ fitting and balance). Another outlet i called today is doing them at $400.00 (on the vehicle) and buys them in at around $350.00. I got mine for $279.00 each (fonterra discount, cause thats where i work  8) ) which is cheaper than Beauies staff can get them for......

Sure like to know who does them for $200.00

$360.00 for 32's is prolly full retail, like Benny says, get them the sharpen their pencil...... its a buyers market.

I paid 280 at beau repairs for my 35's, but that was 18 months ago, they were heavily discounted back then to get them 'out there'

you's also need to keep in mind that by goin to a actual goodyear dealer you may get them cheaper cos they get better buy price than that of a tyre shop which doesnt deal with goodyear products all the time. at work we had sweet buy prices of goodyear cos we were goodyear dealer that is until firestone came to the party and brought us out, now our buy prices thru goodyear are quite darer now. and another thing tyre prices have gone thru the roof lately. bridgestone firestone have had 4 15% price increases since october. jus some food for thought

Of the MT Branded tyres, I have found the MTR a good allrounder, and for the price I wouldn't go past it, although when I go to 35's it will be interesting what the price difference will be between those and the Creepies etc.
If the KL71 came in 35's I'd give them a go

The thing most people over look is style of tyre simex etc are a SAT ort tractor style mud designened to sink in (bite) and no need to spin excesivly just crawl through crap. wrangler MTR, kl71 kumo are a radial tyre and need to spin to clear to work. the radila type tyre what ever you wish to call it at/ mt etc is better on the road than any SAT type and unless you are spending 90% of your time in knee deep sloppy clay goop excellent bang for buck and you ca road them ad ot ru two sets of tyres. ad the KL71 is o its way i 35"

if they are not All Terrain then what do you call them ?

I call them exactly what they are MT/Rs......... Search on Goodyears website.

Well what ever you call them I think they are a great all rouder, I hav run them for 20,000kms now on the cruiser and they look as new. And now that I bought my own tyre shop will likely stock them next to the kl71 but those buying must insure that they buy only USA made MTR's esspecially if buying second hand a couple of batches came in ex SA and where crap and not round (should all be out of the market by now but check the made in label)

you need to remember that MT/R stands for maximum traction radial not mud traction.
it will certainly be interesting to see how the new design ones go like. a bit better on road ability's without sacrificing off road ability's would be nice.

I can't understand what the fuss is over what those letters stand for, they have little difference in to performance to "mud terrain" tyres like the buckshot or BFG's

as i understand it people get it mixed with the true 100% mud tires. from what i'm told they do not perform any where near as well as a true mud does. however i wouldn't drive a decent mud tire on the road anyway.
i think theres a fair few comment on people buying them expecting them to be a mud tire because of the MT label when they are not made for or advertised for serious mud use. hence i've seen them called "aggressive AT" to categorise them away from MT tires.
i just think calling them MTR is just a marketing ploy to sucker in those who are just buying by the label.
here is plenty of so called AT tires with tarseal only tread on them.
it only a name, its all just marketing BS.

A "true" mud tyre are the likes of simex etc, but BFG's amongst a lot of others run a MT tyre, which would not be a dedicated mud tyre like the simex, but they also run AT's as do Goodyear, this just means the tread pattern is suited more to mud or off road use.
Most people who I know who ask for a mud tyre are after the MTR/MT type for road/offroad use and not dedicated off road tyres

They are closer to any other "MT" labelled tyre than any AT labelled tyre
