You are going to hate my guts for saying it, but I believe the bar will affect your approach angle and stop the truck on every little bank.
Is there no way you can move the winch back or up to improve things. A 60-70 degree approach angle is one of the most important things to make a truck capable.
Sorry to be negative
Cheers Richard

Re: my stupid lux
judging by that last pic, the approach angle doesnt look like it would be too bad....

Re: my stupid lux
honesty is good
and unfortunatly thereis no way to move it back ... as it is its hard up against the bonnet support bracket
originally i was going to mount it in the back ... but im not ready to spend 400 + on plasma right now so i can run it forward
if you take the front leaf hanger and put a bar from the bottom of the tyre .. it just hits the winchbar .....perhaps i need to move my axle forward
the hoops only there so i can see the front of the bar
that p/s rad ... is basically the thickness of clearnce from the fan to the winch
i COULD move my rad back further i have about 4" from that to the engine......another reason why i have a 3" lift ...to push the endine back over the axel
oh and the winch is already about 6 " above the top of the chassis rails .. if you look at the side on pic you can see the chassis rails... im reluctant to go higher as as it is the stress's it will not be happy... even with all the bracing back down the rails it has
cheers richard
suggestions are welcome

Thats the one I have moved mine forward and works great, without coils it is no worse than most trucks

Re: my stupid lux
Hi Wayne
I dont know your truck setup but looking at the truck and reading your reply ,my 1st choice would be the mid mount. This has 2 advantages.
1 good approach angle
2 Hiluxs are too heavy at the front and it would improve the performance by transferring weight over the rear wheels.
Reading your reply you could greatly improve the approach angle by moving the radiator back 3 inches. You would gain more there than moving the axle forward 1 inch .
The advantage of moving the axle forward though is you can fit bigger tyres without rubbing on the guards.
Dont be hasty and have a look at others setups first.
Cheers Richard
