Quiet weekend for me. Drove down to Aucks this morning to collect boot liner for the new wagon - dodgy trade-me meet in a carpark deal but can't argue with saving $300 :D

Still loving the new truck - permagrin :D :D

Now I can swap all the work and recovery gear out of the old Disco, get it cleaned up and hopefully sold.

Anyone want a 94 NZ new 300 Tdi Discovery? Very well maintained but high K's. No ABS or Airbags to go wrong nice simple motor. It's not been modded but still gets places as all landies do. PM me for more details if your keen.

Matt

Well, I was a winch bitch in the manawatu club teams recovery day today which started good untill one of our team members belts all came off. seems the crank pully and the idler pullys had come loose and pretty much destroyed them selves so after completing only one hazard we spent the rest of the day getting him out

Not photo shopped and no I didnt use that  I said to 2's surely youve got a bigger disc than that (referring to worn out 100mm grinding disc) and he comes back with that  So we thought we'd make a photo op. You couldnt even hold the grinder as the disc was nearly the whole length!

Hell of a lot of fun!, great day, you guys doing the Costa comp at QBW are gonna love it!
We struggled to get the Jalopy round between the trees and pegs, 3 point turns all over the place! Gonna have to chuck some fiddles on, or get rear steer done  Euan didnt have to do anything, cept remind me to turn the lockers off
Really tight courses suited Suzuki's, but their downfall was the bogs, no prob for 40's
A bit of carnage as Haynzy said, broken crank snout on the Steve's Paj, and a Landy sucked a lungful after rolling into a pond/boghole, and a Rangie blew up its transfercase, oil trail and bits of alloy on the ground  We suffered a mashed in door, goddam trees.

Sure was an awesome event. Tried to follow Jafa through a bog hole which he made nice and easy and we dissapeared into the bog. Was a good thrash for the truck, altough throws a bit of mud around and took along time to clean

Image

Have some video footage of a quick play afterwards, but will have to figure that bit out first

Looking at the difference in times ,im sure some of the other teams must of had a plan to get value for money and spend as much time as they could in the seat :) either that or Jafa must of taken a few short cuts

Yeah, Hills Hills was cool, as usual, I managed to crunch a few trees, but for once no damage and didnt need the sledge hammer to straighten out the roof. Dug a lot of holes with my new JTs so have to learn how to drive better with them. Feel sorry for Steve, open heart surgery required on the Pajero, should buy a Landy
Thumbs up to Tony H in his V8 Landy, drove the bog start to finish with open diffs :D :D :D :D
Also thanks to Safari Pete for an outstanding effort as my co pilot. That man deserves a DB
