another thing to remember is the commy fans are HUGE and you need a bit of room to mount them, as you can see in the above pic.
and pete, it wouldnt fit in the weapon dude. i have one that you can look at if you want so you can see.

I see you don't have a shroud on your fan, was that intentional or just to difficult to fit.
Would have thought would get better cooling if it had a shroud, particulrly at low speeds, as some of the air will be getting lost to the sides with no shroud, also shroud would stop some of the mud.
Thanks
Tim
I have had the alloy in the garage for the last two years to make a shroud, just haven't got round to it. Trouble is, it cools fine without it.

IT just fits between the grill and the radiator with no modifications to radiator mounts or grill mounts. The aircon radiator was removed and a trans cooler installed in its place

Do you have a particular year recommendation or model of commodore (SS etc) that is better than others? Great info - assume the $15 you are talking about is a wrecker special? Thanks Bill.
Some have a slimline one's similair in thickness to the aftermarket ones. You really need to get the one above with the massive motor on it.
Oh, I see now.
This is not a dig at you Bill
BUT>>>>>>
That commy fan is NOT reversable in the true sense. What you have done is fine bla bla bla, but not what i had in mind when you siad it was reversable
When i say say you can't reverse a OEM fan, like the commy fan, i mean that you can't take the blade off and flip it around and the blade sit in the same position inside the shrowd as it did when the blade was in pull position.
What you have done works, but doesn't count for most of us!!!!
If you want i will take some photo's tonight and better explain myself, although this is beside's the point of the thread, i am trying to compile a list of good OEM push fans, or OEM pull fans that can have the blades flipped to be properly reversed!!!
I don't count what you have done to that commy fan as having the blade flipped properly so its reversed
My thread, i make the rules
No hard feelings

That Fan that I have is a REVCOR 840027HP made in the USA
If you register on there site they have specs for all there fans Push and Pull. It may help you to know what is available.
My main problem was I didn't realize it was a 24volt.
If you are 24 volt you could play with the one I have
Cheers Richard

Don't worry, what you were trying to say didn't click in my head either

Did anyone else have a fan setup they could suggest here?
Are Disco's push or pull? And what fan did you end up using DB?
I have a severly restricted space to fit in push fans to keep the fee8 cool. I am going to get a new alloy radiator which will help, but won't do the job on it's own, and I can't be farked doing the rear mount rad in the rear 1/4 panel again (real bitch to bleed amongst other things)
Cheers for any insight others can provide here.

I did some blade swapping (fluke) between another fan i had (thought it might have been a toyota) and a skyline R33 fan i got. The skyline was a push fan and the other a pull fan. Worked sweet!!!!
The fan i'm using on the left:

It fitted way better before i got the radiator made bigger, the fan was actually placed over the core.
There must be more options out there though, i just used what i could get my hands on

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 715719.htm Beemer fans seem to look like they'd move a bit of air

Disco ones must be air con ones? The motor has a big viscous one... I too would like some fans to cool the fee8 and reading with interest.
